I just returned from a trip where went to a car museum cos my bro is into cars. The original owner of the musum collected cars like you wouldnt believe, enough to fill 3 sheds.

He must have had at least 50 Packards. Anyway I dont know if I was that impressed. I think one car that actually goes is enough. lol

I've been noticing that more guys(mid to late 20s) openly declare on social media that they aren't too impressed with dating women their age, and prefer those who are older. Older women appear to have more confidence, experience, less drama, know what they want (their opinion). I think if the woman is focused on her career, is financially stable, takes care of herself, then she can definitely attract a younger man.
I just don't think it's very satisfying, in a more traditional sense, as you can be in different life stages and a woman can feel like she is pulling more weight in the relationship. I'm not saying there's no possibility for a happily ever after, but women need to be more thoughtful of the age gap, especially if you want to have kids. To each their own of course. I think society is becoming more acceptive of this reverse age gap, and I see more women cheering for women who have paired up with a younger male. I think it really comes down to having similar values, faith, respect/support for one another and wanting to grow old together, through all the obstacles in life.

Cougars tend not to be so relationship oriented so much as other, physical, motives. Just like the 50 year old man isn't dating 20-somethings for romance, either.

find someone who has the exact same birthday as you, like your birthday twin, and there will be no problem with any age gap.

eve was created on the same day as adam apparently.

Hey Everyone,

I was reading an article about the singer, Madonna, who was basically the original "Lady Gaga" when I was a kid, is apparently 62 years old -- and dating a 27-year-old.

The article then proceeded to talk about all the flack she is getting for this, and how society seems to readily accept 62-year-old men dating 27-year-old women, but for some reason, throw a fit when it's the other way around.

Why do you think this is?

I have had regular contact with older relatives all of my life, and in their social circles, the single women all say, "The men our age are looking for a nurse, or a purse." Apparently, they are claiming that men want someone to care for them as their health falters, and/or someone to support them and pay for their cost of living.

Now I can't speak for everyone, but I have also seen this in the churches I've attended (granted, the congregations are often mostly 60 and older,) as well as on Christian dating sites.

I don't want to be someone who roots my belief in stereotypes but I don't want to be completely naive to reality, either.

* If so many men are looking for younger partners and it has become somewhat accepted, why isn't the same thing considered acceptable for women?

(Or maybe it is, and I just haven't met the people who think so?)

Our whole society seems to be obsessed with youth, and even Christians are hopping on the bandwagon.

* Why should (or shouldn't) there be a double standards when it comes to whom the age brackets men and women look for?

As a woman who has experienced a little of both -- being asked out both by men who are 40 years older and a few who are 20 years younger -- I can see some of the pro's and con's to heading in either direction.

What about all of you?

I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences about this topic!
Spiritual maturity is often a more important fact than physical age. Spiritual maturity tends to come exponentially - that is the older you get, the more mature you become - but - this is not always true. In the case that it is not, you may find a very spiritually mature young man in Christ who complements you, is able to provide, is skilled in The Word, understands the implications of the age-gap etc. Etc. If, this happens, it can be a great thing. And, a very rare thing.

In a general sense, it's important to test the spirit of anyone you are becoming one flesh with, regardless of age or external appearance - who are they, what is the intention?

When it comes to what society accepts and doesn't accept - I wouldn't worry about it. You are a child of God, and what God accepts, you should accept, even if a whole nation of others do not.

Remember not to become unequally yoked, and apply God's wisdom, love, and His every Word, in all that you do.

Well, if the woman is already 40+ chasing 20 year olds I don't think kids are on her mind and if they are well she should been thinking kids at 20 instead of 40. That is why if you offer a guy say who is 40 a choice between a 38 year old woman and a 20 year old woman, the 20 wins due to the fact she can produce kids.
