I hear many say they are answering a "calling" to preach. If I should ever hear a "calling" for that, I would rely on the gift of discerning of spirits. God does not call women to disobey his commandments. But I think we all know who does.

There is nothing presumptuous about answering God’s call. Neither is there anything brazen, nor disobedient.

1. Do you believe practicing homosexuals should be allowed membership in denominational churches?

2. Do you believe practicing homosexuals should be allowed positions of leadership within the church, teachers, deacons, pastors?

You have a very different understanding of the scriptures than I do. I was wondering today if you're a mormon. But, I don't know how that church feels about women preachers.

"For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit".

Ephesians 1>13 is even more specific about the exact moment we receive the Holy Spirit:
"In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit."

How can that be so hard to understand?????????

The presence of Peter and John kept the early church unified.

My friend, Evmur..........Remember, there was great animosity between Jews and Samaritans. If the church in Samaria had begun on its own, with no connection to the “Jewish” church, the church in Jerusalem would never have accepted it.

The Samaritans were known historically as corruptors of Judaism. So God made sure that Peter and John, apostles and Jews from Jerusalem, were present to witness the gift of the Spirit given to the Samaritans. God’s message: the church in Samaria was no heretical start-up. The Samaritans were part of the same church that had been started in Jerusalem, and they were filled with the same Spirit. Peter and John were eyewitnesses. Their testimony was clear: what happened in Samaria was not a separate religious movement. In this way, God prevented the early church from immediately dividing into different sects.

The Lord took pains to ensure the unity of the early church. Jesus had commanded the gospel to be preached in Samaria. Philip the evangelist obeyed that command, and God blessed. Whatever animosity existed between the Jews and the Samaritans was overcome by the unity of the Spirit. The church today should continue to “make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace”.

Were Paul's churches unified? the church today is not unified. Under the RCC it was unified, is the RCC therefore a Spirit filled church?

The demonic endeavor to limit, rather than the godly supplication for restraint of, the authority of the daughter of God has decidedly been exceedingly affective.

Evmur.....In John 16:8, Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit:..........
“When [the Spirit] comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment”.

In this verse, we see a three-fold ministry the Spirit will perform in relation to the unsaved world. He will “convict” the world; that is, He will reprove it or show it to be wrong. This reproof will target three areas in which the world needs admonishing: sin, righteousness, and judgment.

Some were admiring Paul, some were admiring Apollos, and some were admiring Cephas, or Peter. Paul tries to reassure the people in Corinth that they should only follow Christ. The answer is NO then as well as NO now.

If you actually think that the church was the Roman Catholic Church then you have a lot...a lot to learn my friend.

The Roman Catholic Church controlled religion, philosophy, morals, politics, art and education. This was the dark ages for true Christianity. The vital doctrines of Biblical Christianity had almost disappeared, and with the neglect of true doctrine came the passing of life and light that constitutes the worship of the One True God as declared in Christ.
