I have read the threads but I seriously don't understand the question.
Why would someone call you "they". Wouldn't that suggest more than one person? Are you a group of people? Can someone explain what the question is so that I can comprehend it?

You are not the only one that finds this thread confusing. Is she hinting that she wants to be a boy???? Two boys????

We know that God created two genders. I'm not really clear on why being called she/her bothers you. Can you be a little more clear on that? Thanks.
honestly, being female bothers me, or even being called a girl, but i know God made me female for a reason, so I should keep that. I want the pronouns shift because I think “she/they” shows I’m female, but also shows I’m not tied to it.

”they/them” are pronouns used to refer to someone without putting gender on it. I’m not wanting to change my gender, just the pronouns. The two do not always go together.

I don't understand your thinking, but I love you anyway.

Why?

The world, your school, the media, the entertainment industry are all feeding your head lies.

Be proud God made you female.

It is not proper English. Explain how you would use it in a sentence in place of she or her.
"They is a good person?" That is ghetto talk.
"That car belongs to them?" Would you trade being called a female for the sounds of the illiterate ringing in your ears?

Historically, ”they” has been accepted as singular use pronouns for a while, it’s just faded out a bit
By using “she/they”, I would be referred to as she/him or they/them. For example: She loves that sweater but their parents don’t.” I know it can get confusing, so a basic way is to use they/them or she/her or do a combination of both. This also gives the option if you’re uncomfortable with using “they/them”

Wow. Come on she does not need a when theological debate on the matter. She is simply struggling with the cultural pressures and trying to figure out what will be honouring to God.
What she said as to what it means to be Christian is good enough. She has years to parse that out as she walks with God.
I think it is great that in the pressure of modern culture she has sought after advice concerning what would honour God.
It's a good question that the church will have to learn to deal with. Dealing with it with compassion and truth is the answer.

"confusing"? It's downright schizophrenic! Most people would wonder which one of her siblings joined her in the middle of the sentence, in trying on sweaters.

If all her sisters liked the sweater but their parents did not, then you make sense.

I just don't think you should make yourself sound dumb in order to fit into some kind of fashionable cultural mold that is not going to last anyway. Excellent articulation skills is the greatest skill you can master and will take you further in life than almost all other skills. Don't sacrifice those for the sake of being relevant to a small segment of society.

Yes, I agree with you that articulation is important. However, I am not doing this to be ‘dumb’ or ‘fit in’. We all know the “if your friends jumped off a bridge“ dilemma. I’m doing this for me because that is what I am comfortable with. If you are uncomfortable with it, you are more then welcome to use “she/her”, as explained.

As for this being a “cultural mold that is not going to last”, same-sex, transgender and other LGBT relationships are all throughout history.

trying to figure out what will be honouring to God.
and what is honoring to God is embracing who He made you to be....
not running around trying to change parts of speech because you don't like the word/sound of a word, or are trying to become socially accepted, and fit in.
She has years to parse that out
does she? Since when do any of us know the length of time we have left on this earth?

Wait...are we talking about sodomy now? Those who practice any kind of homosexual wickedness will not inherit the kingdom of God. This is not debatable. If this is about being a homosexual and a Christian at the same time then I will bow out of the conversation as I do not believe one in a million is sincere when they ask that question and I decided long ago to not get baited into a useless argument about it.

I don’t want to debate that either. I was trying to point out that whether we like it or not, this is not something that will fade away

I know you mean well. But I don't think this is the time to nit pick her theology. She believes in Jesus as her savior and the Lord. She trusts in his death burial and resurrection for her salvation. Now is the time to kindly walk her through a God honouring position. She understands that accepting the language mechanics that accurately expresses who she really is in God according to his design is what is best. We just need to encourage her. Not force her to be on the defensive.

You seem to be asking for opinions.

Look, if a lady tells me she does not want to be called she, or her, I am just going to avoid her and not address her at all.

I think that asking people not to use she/her will result in you having very few friends.

In the colorful words of Sweet Brown... "ain't nobody got time for that"

Heh, alright, we’re allowed to have differing opinions. Thank you for weighing in on the matter
