Wouldn't such discrimination be against the law and therefore
illegal for them to shut you down due to your Christian beliefs?
I'm sorry for the delay in responding, but the day that I've had so far reminds me of an old Rodney Dangerfield joke.
Rodney said:
"I put on my shirt this morning, and a button fell off. I picked up my briefcase, and the handle fell off. I'm afraid to go to the bathroom..."
lol.
In reply to your question, you would think so, but I've actually been through this a few times before, and it's never worked out in my favor before.
I first went into business for myself about 20 years ago. Back then, I sold 8 X 10 nature photos that I double-matted and framed really nice, and each matte had an opening for a text in which I placed a scripture verse that corresponded with the photo. I travelled around and sold them at different places, and one of those places was a Catholic hospital. Well, apparently, somebody who worked there found a quote of mine online in which "I bashed the pope", and I was banned from ever entering that hospital again (they literally had a board meeting about me). Just for giggles, I contacted the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union...I knew that they weren't going to do anything), and they told me that since it was a privately-owned hospital they couldn't help me. They would have never helped me anyway, and that became obvious when I ran into a similar situation at a VA (Veterans Affairs) hospital here in PA. This time, I was reprimanded for selling Christian themed ballcaps (including the one that I'm wearing in my photo), and told that I was going to be banned from all VA hospitals (I sold in 40 different VA's at that time) if I didn't put away (for good) my Christian merchandise. In that particular incident, several Veterans overheard the conversation, and I LITERALLY had to plead with them not to beat the stuffing out of the VA employee who told me that, and I barely restrained them from doing the same. After that, I once again contacted the ACLU, and they basically told me to take a hike. I was also banned from several other places when I sold the photos because people didn't like the fact that they had scriptural references, so, like I said, I've been through this several times before.
Anyhow, so far Amazon has sent me 4 emails which have all basically said nothing, so I'll have to wait to see how this all turns out.
If they don't restore my account, then I'm hoping that they tell me in writing (email) that it's because of my Christian designs. If they do, then there's a very good chance that I'll provide that information to a major news network and see how it goes from there.
Well, on top of this whole Amazon fiasco, on my way to taking my son to play basketball (and you know how much I hate basketball) earlier, my car broke down. At first, I thought that it was something with my transmission, but it looks like my belt fall off in the engine and that it is currently in the front grill of my car. I'm hoping that that's all that it is, but I won't know until I get it towed to my mechanic tomorrow morning.
Other than that, it's been a pretty uneventful day...lol.
Sometimes, you just have to laugh.
The moral of the story?
I'm never mentioning what I do for a living on this forum again...lol.
