Through various discussions on the board here. It seems there is a view that there are two gospels.
Basically it says that Jesus taught a different gospel than that of Paul. Are there two gospels? One that Jesus taught then a different one that Paul taught?
Paul taught the same Gospel as Jesus for he would have to preach the same Gospel because Paul wrote some books of the Bible.
Gal 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Paul received the Gospel the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus from Him by seeing Him on the road to Damascus, and Jesus relating the truth to him.
Paul said he did not receive the Gospel from a person and that would include him making up a different Gospel.
Gal 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
Gal 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Paul said some would try to pervert the Gospel of Christ so he was abiding by the Gospel that Jesus taught.
2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
Jesus taught to abstain from sin by saying repent and those He healed told them to go and sin no more.
Paul taught to abstain from sin.
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
A Spirit led life can abstain from sin which Paul taught abstain from sin.
Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.
Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Paul taught the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Charity, love in action, works, is greater than faith, and faith works by love.
No love, no faith.
1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Paul said without charity they are nothing, and erred from the faith, which the love of money is the root of all evil for it neglects the poor and needy, and love is the fulfilling of the law.
Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
James said without charity then their faith is dead.
Paul and James are saying the same thing and speaking when a person has the Spirit.
Paul said his faith is not valid if he does not have charity, and James said faith is not valid if they do not have charity for love is greater than faith.
We are justified by works and not faith alone for love must by done in works for love to apply in our life to have faith.
We are saved by faith, and not by works, when we first confess Christ for that is all we can do, and then when we receive the Spirit then we have to have works of love to have faith valid in our life to be saved.
Paul is preaching the same thing as James but some people argue over the two.
Paul is preaching the same Gospel as Jesus, and saying the same thing as James that a person has to have works of love, charity, to have faith apply in their life to be saved.
People need to understand when Paul is speaking according to being in the flesh and being in the Spirit.
We are saved by faith, and not by works for that is all we can do for we have not received the Spirit, but when we receive the Spirit then we have to have works of love to have faith, and a Spirit led life can abstain from sin and do works of love by the Spirit so there is no excuse why a person cannot act like Christ.
2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
The Lord knows them that are His who are the people that are led by the Spirit abstaining from sin, and if they do sin they repent and are led of the Spirit and not living in sin, and that is what seals the saints to be saved, and a Spirit led life is not under the law because they are abstaining from sin so the law cannot touch them for prosecution because they are not breaking the law.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Mat 24:50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
Mat 24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Some people confessed Christ but would not allow the Spirit to lead them to abstain from sin but wanted to enjoy sin and believe they still have salvation and will not be caught up to be with Jesus with the saints, but will be caught up in the second resurrection of the dead and be judged in which they will lose salvation.
