I'm drinking some Pete's Major Dickason's blend myself today...it's the weekend and I'm going to need it here in a bit for the grocery store.
Usually I just get Kroger's Columbian.
Its usually foldgers for me, unless I know it’s going to be one of “those mornings” then I drink something a little stronger. Crazy kiddos keeping me up Half the night and or the waking up before I’m ready lol.

Good morning everyone. It's Super Bowl Sunday. Go Chiefs!!! :D

Huh...knew it was coming but forgot it was today.

Probably not going to watch... haven't kept up all year. I didn't know who was playing.

I dunno if there's a way for me to watch it or not... I only have internet access and not cable. No rabbit ears either.
No SB party to go to either this year.

Meh...I'll wait until it's fun.

It’s all so surreal to me! It took the Chiefs 50 years to make it back to the Super Bowl and after winning Super Bowl 54 they are going back again for Super Bowl 55. For them to win 2 years in a row would really blow my mind! No big Super Bowl party for us. We are watching the game with my son and daughter in law. He is making barbecue and she is making chili. :)

when my kiddos were itty bits we'd go into a store and pull out a shopping cart, then I'd have to lift them up into it.
I at first was careful to watch for anyone who might be around us so as not to swing into them. But as they got a little bigger and heavier the focus became to just get them up and into the cart, people really shouldn't be walking THAT close to anyone (especially a young family) to begin with.
I lost count within the first week of how many people walked into my kids swinging feet because they were to focussed on the device in their hands. Most of them just looked dazed and confused when they got hit, but a couple tried to get nasty about it. But between my mom glare and comments from others around who saw it, those nasties ended real quick.

THEN a few years later, we were out for a walk, and stopped at a red light with the pedestrian crossing light

View attachment 225287 A young guy (16-18ish) is walking up behind us so engaged with the device in his hand that he WALKS into the street WITHOUT stopping to even check and see if any traffic was coming. My daughter was 3 or 4 at the time, and said "Boy he's a big dummy" well He must've heard that because he stopped, looked up and around, then stepped back onto the curb with a red face.

I'd like to say people like that need to realize this is simple common sense stuff, but then again common sense isn't so common anymore.
Just the other day I was entering a big shopping center parking lot and there were 3 young adults (maybe teens, IDK) on skateboards coming towards me on the wrong side of the 'street'. Two of them got of my way but I had to swerve around the last one because he was busy looking at his phone. But it was actually nice to see young people on skateboards. Haven't seen anyone on a skateboard in years.

I just love my grandson Jaxon and the best part about being a grandparent is you are only a 'part time' parent. :giggle:

Wait.... hold the phone.....!

Did I read this right!? That Ellie very rarely comes on here anymore??? Like she just randomly does from time to time? 😭😭

Omg how I miss her... someday maybe she will be on here and I will to.. what name is she using do you know?
I just did 3 searches before getting Ellie's member name right :giggle: Which is notmyown:) She was here near
the end of last month, and also mid December, but before that, last summer, July, when she was in this thread:

hello, dear friends

just stopping in for a moment, but i couldn't resist greeting you all, my beloved ones, old friends and new ♥

the Lord bless you and keep you
... and then the December before previous to that... so yes, fairly rare and rather sporadic,
though not always here in this thread, as she posts in other Bible Discussion topics :D

Speaking of phones :giggle: I had her phone number at one time and spoke with
Ellie a number of times within the first year or so of my being a member here :)

I also wonder about Joi of Red Bird Art, as she has been absent for about three years or so... :(

If you see her or hear from her, please... please tell her I said hello. I miss her sooooo much. She was like a grandma to me. I’m just so thankful she’s still alive, don’t know what I would’ve done if I found out she’s not still here on earth with us.

she is such a wonderful person, ugh... I just miss her. 😭😭

Uh.. well PR is still around sometimes.. Kodeman hasn’t been here in forever (really Sad about that actually) and I don’t think Ellie has been here in years.. like since My old account. Tourist and JL are very much still regulars here.. they just travel often.

But the new regulars Are pretty awesome too. Once you get to know them lol.

Im great! Thanks for asking. have 2 little boys now.. still living in the suburbs... and just started a new job. So all is well with us here. 😁
Glad to hear that.
God is good.

I’m going to need for you to think of up a complete list of every new person that has joined since 2017. Paying special attention to the ones who post here on the “Speak” thread.

Full Member stories:
Backgrounds of each.
Their posting styles.
Whether they use humor or not.
Who bakes, who doesn’t.
How to pronounce their screen names properly.

Im sure you get the idea.
I trust your judgment and will expect a full report on my desk by 8am, tomorrow morning.

Thanks.

Haven't heard from Ellie in a few years now or Kody either. I still love this place though and happy to see you pop in. I read that sad post of yours in another thread. Sorry for that to happen to you but I can relate to it.
Thank you, Tourist, I just read that.
I appreciate the kind words and always have.
You’re still an epic type of fella.

Hope things are going well...and tell your lovely wife that Reborn says hello and is still waiting for the plate of cookies she had promised to make me at Christmas time--2016?

Im assuming it’s still a top priority for her? 🤔

Ha!
You still have that silly sense of humor huh?

You know gosh darn and well that I dont know ALL those specifcs... I get on here often but not EVERY day.

I ain't got time for that. No one with littles running around has time for that lol.

But the regulars that DO come on here, are pretty awesome. Magenta is the best of all...only cause shes the baker... and has overcome so much in her life. She's like the Aunt I never had... just like Ellie was like the Grandma I never had. and @jennymae is like the sister I never had.

so many folks who have touched my life in more than one way.

But you get the gist ;)

Wow. Crazy. Funny, yet sad?

I would have told my daughter to be polite all call him “Call him, Mr Dummy” when addressing him”
(I was always trying to work on my kids manners and squeeze in life lessons at opportune times)

Sadly, common sense isn’t so common now,
.....and even worse, most people’s common sense doesn’t even make sense. 😢

Ellie was one of the best.
Insightful, caring, polite.

It was easy to love her and she made all feel welcomed.
I miss her friendship too.

Thanks for all the updates on the old Speak regulars, Magenta.
