It is a milk tart, not an omelet :p:ROFL::ROFL:

No it does not taste eggy. It is a milk filling. There is a Portuguese milk tart that can be eggy if you don't bake it correctly but not so much with the South African one. The SA one can be baked or not baked and it is delicious.
