Bob, You always state we need to put politics aside and preach the word?
You cant preach and teach that the Eunuch in Acts 8:37 believed and confessed Jesus is the Son of God, its removed in your NIV
One of the "Only" places belief and confession is seen in My Holy Bible KJV
As is seen, the evil one isnt only stealing the election, the same is going on with Gods Words
To be honest with you. Getting Trump out of the office of POTUS was the most important part of the election for me. I think that the 25th amendment should have been enacted ane enforced a couple of years ago. Never the less, let's see what you were talking about.
The BSB (Berean Study Bible) is currently my go-to Bible, not NIV or KJV. Let's go see. I will not edit but if there is a discrepancy we can check the more accurate NAS, or RSV's Stand by;
36
As they traveled along the road and came to some water, the eunuch said, “Look, here is water! What is there to prevent me from being baptized?” (c) c; TR includes
37And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may be baptized.” The eunuch replied, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
Oh I'm sorry let's see what TR stands for; Scrivener’s Textus Receptus & Stephanus Textus Receptus.
Now from the same web page;
New American Standard Bible
And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."
King James Bible
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Young's Literal Translation
And Philip said, 'If thou dost believe out of all the heart, it is lawful;' and he answering said, 'I believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God;'
They all seems clos enough. So what's your point? Is there any translation that is 100 percent correct? Aren't there some mistakes, modifications and additions in KJV?
I myself never took the doctrinal position that the KJV was the perfect word of God. I've never joined a church that would either. Certainly you don't believe that the KJV is the Holy, entire, unaltered word of God.
FYI; Biblehub is where I source most of the texts and translations that I use. Besides the BSB, pdf I have on my Windows 10 desktop. I have an NIV Recovery bible on my dresser rather than an AA Big Book.
