I could look for a date, or buy a pack of dates... but it's easier to just look up a date on the calendar app in my phone.

A real good friend would be better. I married my best friend. I enjoy her baked goods too. She makes the best pie crust that I have ever tasted. Very flaky. An Amish recipe that she found online. Years ago she gave that pie crust recipe to my mom. Mom was delighted with the results and from then on used that recipe. I then knew that my wife was a good cook because Mom is hard to impress regarding how to bake and cook food. Mom loved her pot roast too and the peach pie that she baked with the Amish pastry crust.
First of all, I make amazing eggnog cookies. That's first of all. So, it's definitely easier to bake cookies.
