You just keep using circular logic, and go no where.

The KJV, for no known reasons is the inspired blueprint that reflects the image of Christ or the imago dei.

Therefore we must use the KJV to confirm every word, because it is perfect. But an error in Luke 2:17, has been found which is one added letter, sigma, which changed a genitive noun to a nominative case noun, as per the KJV. The KJV literally says that God's peace is on everyone's, which is universalism. The older manuscripts, closer to the original autographs, literally says God's favour rests on men of good will, or the saved, only.

So you KJV falls short of perfection, and teaches heresy because of the added sigma at the end of eudokia.

To show you what I mean:

"The inspired blueprint is the one that reflects the image of Christ." Because we have shown the KJV is wrong in one verse in Luke 2, it cannot be the correct blueprint. Instead, the original languages reflect the image of God, and they are the gold standard which are right, not the KJV with errors.

Got it?
I responded to your heresy statement in my last post.

No English translation can be the basis of the Bible. Only the Koine Greek, and Hebrew and the Greek in the Septuagint. Those are the only sources to compare.

I used to be obsessed with comparing translations. Then I learned Greek and Hebrew, got some tools like lexicons, exegetical guides and commentaries based on Greek and Hebrew. I can figure out a lot of issues, because some things don't translate well into English. Word order doesn't translate well from Greek, because Greek, like German uses noun and adjectival cases. Verbs are more important for their aspect, rather than linear time, as we use in English. Participles are minor in all the modern languages I have studied. I used my second year French grammar to remind myself of the parts of speech, when I looked for participles, they didn't exist in that compressive case. In Greek, participles are very important, and how you translate them. A lot of these subtle issues are not apparent in a translation into the English language.

Comparing English manuscripts doesn't tell you anything. When I took second year seminary Greek, I took it from Dr. Bill Mounce. He has been on almost every translation committee in modern times. He quit the ESV, because it was just a reattempt of the KJV. It had been billed as a "fresh and exciting new translation," but he and his father, also a Greek scholar, realized the first few sessions that ESV was just another KJV translation. From Early Modern English to Contemporary English! He has also written an often used 1st year seminary Greek text book. I used it in seminary. He had so much insight and understanding into Greek. So many details and stories about Greek word usage. He also has a morphology which has every single word in the Greek NT, and the cases, if it is a noun or adjective, or conjugation if it is a verb. Sitting in a Bible study with some English translations is simply never going to come close to understanding and using the original languages.

I always feel so blessed that God gave me the privilege of learning Koine Greek and Biblical Hebrew. If you want to "put in the work" then learn Greek and Hebrew, you will be on the right track. The languages the Bible was written in!
Bill Mounce "Greek for the Rest of Us" and "Basics of Biblical Greek" are my next year text books.
Which English Translation does Bill Mounce praise the most?
He has a really good website https://www.billmounce.com/

He didn't come to bring good will to all men?,

Because that is not written! It is a mistake in the KJV as I have told you at least 3 times. Plus, theologically it is incorrect. If God gave good will towards all men, then every person who lived would be saved. Then many would be saved, without believing in Christ, repenting of their sins. God's promise is that he has chosen his saints before the foundation of the earth, and they are saved, so he gives peace towards men of good will, IOW, those who are saved!

God did not make a mistake, Luke did not make a mistake, I did not make a mistake, but the KJV, by adding one letter than changes the whole theology of the verse is wrong, not perfect, not reliable. The KJV is the problem, because the manuscripts were not copied and transmitted properly. Plus, since this verse is used on greeting cards and Christmas carols, it is teaching heresy, rather than the truth of God's word.

The NASB contradicts itself in this account. In verse 10 it says that the good news is for ALL PEOPLE.
Then in verse 14 it's contradicts verse 10 by saying the good news is only to those who God is pleased with.

Was the good news (gospel) for all people or was the good news (gospel) only for those that God is pleased with?

Luke 2:10
New American Standard Bible

10 And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;

Luke 2:14
New American Standard Bible

14 “Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among people [a]with whom He is pleased.”

I can't believe you believe the gospel isn't for the ENTIRE WORLD. Please explain.

The good news is for all, but only those who receive it obtain the peace of God :)

That's what I see there...

The good news was that salvation had come to the gentiles.

Good news! Jesus is the Saviour of all men. He didn't die for a few chosen elect. Praise the Lord! All men can be saved!

1 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

The point being? You decided that for yourself ;)
Well, it has been proven to me throughout my life. It has never been proven false. Can you say that about your Bible?

Judge it by its fruit.

Only if you have a calvinistic worldview and presuppositions .

Eh? So according to you, those who do not believe have/obtain the peace of God as well?
No . I could bring a tray of cookies to the whole class but if some don't recieve they don't have. There's no benefit if people do not recieve Jesus . John 1.12 .
