Luke 21:20-28 below clearly shows the (Church) present on earth during the tribulation, right up to the second coming of Jesus Christ in the heavens.

Verse 24 states (They Shall Fall) speaking to the Church present, about the Jews in Jerusalem during the fulfilling of the gentiles, also seen in Revelation 11:2

Luke 21:20-28KJV
20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
I understand your problem. And your problem is a misunderstanding of Luke 21.

Luke 21 is significantly different than Matthew 24 and Mark 13.
TONS of people are confused or don't know about this.
Go through this video you will understand it.

Seriously a misunderstanding of Luke 21 is probably the greatest impediment to understanding the nature of the great tribulation and getting a grasp on end time prophecy.

This thread is, indeed, about Israel, as Jacob's name was changed to be called Israel, Gen 32:28. Jacob/Israel is representative of God's elect, Rom 9:11.

God chose the spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ before the foundation of the world. It does not say that God chose us TO BE in him. The word according, takes the context back to the previous verse. That's the English language.

I'm being told I'm wrong for telling people their wrong?
A fine example of words being twisted...where do you see I said you were wrong? No need to try to "read" between my words. Am a straight-forward individual, and would come out and say you are wrong if I believe/thought you are/were wrong. Can not make you change your mind, nor would even try. It is between you and God. If you believe a certain thing or certain way, that is your belief. Am not God, and do not know your mind. Please do not put words in to my mouth. Different strokes for different folks.
Thanks!! :)

Neither Jew Nor Gentlie

When Jesus gave up the ghost, the veil in the temple was rent, out with the old, in with the new, it's all about the shed blood on Calvary.

When God looks at man he sees man, saved/unsaved no in-between, God has no respect for person.
1cor 10 32Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

Just curious to find out how different people here understand this verse/phrase. What does it mean that we are Elect according to the foreknowledge of God?

It’s obvious that it means that Election is based on God’s foreknowledge, but there are different views as to what that means.

Discuss, if you please.
Gods foreknowledge is simply saying God knows the end from the beginning . It’s the form of prophecy he always spoke forth and then things happened . He said “Jesus would be born of a virgin and his foreknowledge came to pass “

he said Israel would reject and crucify him and his foreknowledge came to pass . So then he said “ whoever repents and believes the gospel will be saved “ and his foreknowledge will come to pass”

if we believe the gospel , that is proof of our election and adoption into Gods kingdom Whoever is saved in the end , was elected because they heard and believed Gods Word ofmsalvation when it came

Eph 1 God choose a people before the foundation of the world. Psalms 105:6, O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob (Israel) his chosen.
Jesus Christ fulfilled the promised seed of Abraham.

Look and read very closely, the Ethnic Jews of the flesh are not the children of God, there is no covenant with those that aren't God's children.

The children of the promised seed is (Israel) God's chosen the (Church)

Psalm 105:6-8KJV
6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
7 He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

Romans 9:6-8KJV
6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Galatians 3:16 & 29KJV
16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

I think that you are trying too hard to make the scriptures fit your false doctrine. This is Paul including himself with the saints at Ephesus and the faithful IN JESUS CHRIST. This is the "US" in verse 4.
