Gary, that's true for me too. Abel was baptized in his own blood. He was born again. I think as second son he was less important to His mother. Born humbled in state made Abel more sympathetic to the affliction suffered by the imposition of a matriarch on the first family. Suffering bore mostly by his father but also himself. They understood that the family of man was disordered. Abel's blood is on Cain's hands but also the hands of His mother.
Great errors and false teaching were immediate. The worst thing you can do is assume things were good and true in the beginning and follow a tradition believing that tradition is holding to the 'original' teachings the most faithful or true . This is the greatest deception Catholics have bought into . Not just Catholics, many denomination s . " oh we go back to such and such ,when the real Church was such and such " . Even now folks are convinced we should go back to the book of Acts because that was the authentic way . Calvinism , Lutherans, Cathoilcs are all assuming they can trace back their beginnings through the church history claiming they are the true ,godly and authentic ' blood line ' to the ' original ' . Catholicism being the most boastful and deceived in this thinking. You cannot arrive at Roman Catholicism through the bible . What has happened, like all groups and systems it ' uses ' the bible to prop up the tradition.
