SarahUmbreon this is off topic for the thread, but I don't have a good venue for asking so I'll ask here: Why do the ears on your avatar look just like the tail? It looks like either an ear on the butt or two tails on the head...

I know you didn't design that pokemon, so it ain't your fault. But do you know why the ears and tail look identical?
From what I know that's how it's designed, looking it up on Bulbapedia (AKA The Pokemon wikipedia, best site for Pokemon info) this is what they say what Umbreon is based on:

"Umbreon's origins are uncertain, though it could be based on a black cat, which was considered to be an omen of bad luck (in Western countries, contrary to Japan's viewpoint in which it is considered lucky) and can be interpreted as the reasoning behind the Dark typing. Its long ears are similar to those of a hare and may originate from the East Asian legends concerning a Moon rabbit.

The rings on Umbreon's body resemble Egyptian lunar markings and jewelry that have been associated with animal sculptures, such as cat statues of the Egyptian goddess Bastet. While Bastet was originally a lioness warrior and the goddess of the sun, Greeks occupying ancient Egypt toward the end of its civilization changed her into the goddess of the moon. This change may have drawn some of the inspiration for the Pokémon's lunar theme.

Additionally, Umbreon may be inspired by Tezcatlipoca, a central deity in Aztec religion who took the form of a black jaguar that had yellow horizontal bands, and was associated with the night sky
."

Also, the art I'm using for my profile picture is the old art, it has been slightly redesigned:

600px-197Umbreon.png

If you compare, the tail is clearly more thicker in the newer art. I just like Umbreon cause the design is cool (It rings glow, looks so cool in Pokemon Colossuem and XD Gale of Darkness), it was my first high level Pokemon (My Eevee didn't evolve until it was in level 60s range, lol), and it is a amazing tank. The defenses are amazing and it saved me plenty of times when playing Pokemon Colossuem. It would take hits and I would heal my team, plus it can learn Toxic and Moonlight, which makes it even better as a tank overall.

I've got an idea.....why not start threads like 'If you're between 20-30 (30-40 and so forth), single(as in would like a relationship), and would like to have a casual PM with someone, post here a few of your interests. We can all assume you love the Lord and want a Godly mate. If someone would like to get a PM, give them a 'heart'. Have the casual PM chat and see what blossoms. There would have to be made clear, 'no offense taken' if one bows out and I can see that could create rejection feelings but that could be done gracefully.
I know this isn't a dating site but it seems this would be more fruitful than some threads that are well-intentioned but end up in ongoing quarrels. Of course the mods would have to approve.
I have a friend who met her hubby on E-Harmony(after a while of chatting), and two who met their spouses on YT chat sites(and they all were Christians). It does happen.
What's wrong with this idea. My goodness so many attempts have been tried at this and then fizzle out. We don't know how much time we have here on this planet and for those who are interested in getting to know someone, wouldn't it be nice JUST TO DO THAT? If I was looking, I wouldn't be wishy-washy about it. No offense but is it just me who finds this standstill a little sad?

Sounds like an interesting idea..but it does have a lot of risks of potential harm and may cause some to feel uneasy being on here if something doesn't work out.Its a delicate thing the human heart and every one is at a different place emotionally in their lives..Dunno if you read my comment ok here about my experience meeting another Christian on line...but it can be a good thing for some while painful or dangerous for others.
I guess see what others say in response to your idea.

why not just ask your friends out. Unless you have no friends.
They might have single brothers or sisters.

I mean really.

talking about job hunting...also the best jobs I have always had recommendations from friends, not just answering a random ad online. you just know why most companies put those ads online or in the paper? Trying to make it sound like the dream job to apply for? because someobody LEFT as they werent happy. The pay was rubbish or the boss was a tyrant.

Go to YT then type 'live/chats' and you will see all sorts of topics/streaming happening.
Oh you mean the live videos where you can comment. I thought you meant actual chat rooms where people can talk to each other.

I know there are risks, but there are risks at many things we do, like go outside, lol. Sometimes if we really desire something we must step out in faith, asking God for the Holy Spirit to guide us.

Right, 'Live/chat' is live where you can chat. Not that this is their purpose, but I know two couples, Christian, who found their spouses there.

I went on a couple a few years ago and was highly disappointed.

I think when you have so much choice, people just dont put the effort in because they know that they have numerous others to turn to instead.

I think they tend to promote all the wrong ways of thinking. Give me the old fashioned way of meeting people any day.
You just never know who you are going to bump into on any given day. It could be a future husband or wife.

I have thought of getting back on the dating sites but I only like the ones that have chat and forum options because as you said, going through profiles (including mine) for even an hour will make anyone's eyes glaze over.
CC has chat and forum options. :)

Of course and I am totally confident that God is very interested in who we have romantic relationships with as his children just as how natural parents want us to be with sone one who is right for us.🙏🏻👍😊

To extend your analogy: Or the employee had idealistic expectations that were far too high for a job in the real world, got huffy because all his demands were not met and stormed out. I've known some employees like that, and some relationships that broke up for just that reason.

Some employers are posting jobs online in the faint hope that they can get SOMEBODY who actually does the job right. And some people post personal ads online because maybe there's somebody out there who will love them and not be demanding everything for "me, me, ME!" all the time.

And maybe if you quit generalizing about everybody you might find somebody for you. But if you found him right now you'd dismiss him out of hand, because you would assume he has a lot of flaws and would never be the right one for you.

It's been a while since I've been here. Hello!
So recently, I joined a christian dating site. I was nervous and apprehensive about doing so for quite some time.

Well, now I have no idea what I was nervous about. There are only a handful of people there that I would want to talk to, based on their profiles. There are so many that are very generic. A few lines that are very vague about who they are and what they are looking for.

Here are a few examples...some paraphrasing since I cannot remember them word for word.

"God fearing woman looking for a God fearing man." (What does that mean? Could it be any more vague?)
"Looking for my best friend that could lead to marriage" (A little better, but still nothing to make me want to message them.)
"Here is a recent pic of me (suggestive profile pic) message me if you like what you see." (Highly likely a scammer. Also scammers are very common. They give me the most activity.)
"I'm looking for a man who puts God first in his life and someone that I can spend the rest of my life with." (Good things, but it's a christian dating site. Aren't most of the people there looking for that?)

So those are a few examples of what I'm talking about. There are some that are really informative and makes me want to ask more questions and get to know someone more, but they haven't logged on in 6 months or more.

I have to be honest, I am hardly impressed with it so far.

so if you ever join one, if possible, tell about yourself and give some idea of who you are. I mean, those examples of descriptions above...they have to more interesting than that! They cannot be that boring, can they?

I am not trying to be mean, so if that is what it seems like...sorry.

I actually find it a bit amusing.
"God fearing woman looking for a God fearing man" or God fearing man looking for a God fearing woman is the default option regarding profiles on Christian dating sites.

I agree that "Looking for my best friend that could lead to marriage" is a little better. I agree that stressing one's pic could be a red flag. Regardless, looks will change year by year so it would be a huge mistake to predicate your choice based primarily on looks.

Also, I would prefer God loving rather than God fearing. Rather than putting God first I would prefer that my spiritual relationship with the Lord is most important.

Not entirely sure what it means to put God first in a practical sense in your everyday life. For me, I just try to do my best with what God provides, try to set a good example and treat people with respect. Still though, I am still a human being, and although I am Christian I still occasionally stumble or possibly make a poor choice occasionally.

Those that are looking for a perfect person will likely spend the rest of their lives alone.

Those who are looking for a perfect person are probably better off spending their lives alone... and the people they might find are probably better off looking elsewhere. Can't nobody measure up to perfection.
