I am a wine (merlot or sauvignon) drinker. Call me whatever you like.
I do not consider drinking a sin :) It is recommended in Scripture under certain circumstances, and also, Jesus would not have miraculously made gallons and gallons of wine for people to drink if drinking were a sin ;):) It is just not for me, any more :D I am allergic ;)

I say we do not have to "endure" to the end for our salvation.
The Bible says:

Matthew
24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Such a beautiful touching post, thank you Pulie.

The Lord showed me that my behaviour needed to change....what an amazing Father we have...it makes me cry, because he is so faithful.....we have so much to learn all of us...but we have the best Teacher!
I’m sure you agree....God Bless.
Your welcome sis.

Wow praise God. I am touched and humbled by your words. God works in us to will and to act according to His good purpose.

We really have a lot to learn, we can never arrive.

Oh, Rosemary! I am so glad to hear you are making headway, because I know how discouraged you sometimes became after achieving a bit of sobriety and then falling back into it (the "bottle"), even as you were able to receive God's grace around it and forgive yourself. Drinking before I was saved was something I did pretty much every day for many years spanning into double digits. It was only when I cried out to God for help that I, too, lost the desire to use mind and mood altering substances, and I found a lot of support, encouragement, guidance, inspiration, and insight in the rooms of AAA and NA and through working the 12 steps as well :) Part of my "story" is that I did not even believe in God when I cried out to Him for help, nor was I seeking help to quit drinking and drugging, but help to stop other things that were causing me untold pain. I just wanted the pain to stop... and for the most part, it has :D
BEA~UTI~FUL testimony \o/...

I agree...
I believe when one feels they are getting drunk , that is when to stop , because drunken behaviour leads to sin , are mind alters...
The problem with me , I can`t stop till I am sick , just thinking about it makes me feel sick , but O so thankful for our Lord , anyway , do not want to derail the thread :)

Scriptures that refute irresistible grace...............

Lamentations 3:35-36: "To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High, To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not."

Matthew 23:37: "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and YE WOULD NOT!"

John 5:39-40: "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And YE WILL NOT come to me, that ye might have life."

Acts 7:51: "Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always RESIST the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye."

Proverbs 1:24-26: "Because I have called, and YE REFUSED; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh."

Proverbs 29:1: "He, that being often reproved HARDENETH HIS NECK, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy."

I do not either. Anything beyond moderation can become a sin.
