Oh, Rosemary! I am so glad to hear you are making headway, because I know how discouraged you sometimes became after achieving a bit of sobriety and then falling back into it (the "bottle"), even as you were able to receive God's grace around it and forgive yourself. Drinking before I was saved was something I did pretty much every day for many years spanning into double digits. It was only when I cried out to God for help that I, too, lost the desire to use mind and mood altering substances, and I found a lot of support, encouragement, guidance, inspiration, and insight in the rooms of AAA and NA and through working the 12 steps as wellPart of my "story" is that I did not even believe in God when I cried out to Him for help, nor was I seeking help to quit drinking and drugging, but help to stop other things that were causing me untold pain. I agree, as sobriety is highly favored and more than strongly recommended in ScriptureI do not either. Anything beyond moderation can become a sin.
