You may have misunderstood what I was saying, because my point isn’t that electing Obama displayed racism, but that his presidency revealed the true extent of racism in the country. I think most people remember the racial slurs that was on the rise back then, and the president and black people in general was the target.
No, I understood you, I just disagree. It wasn't that long ago in history that a black person couldn't even vote. So we've come a long way in a relatively short period of time. I see the positive. If you focus on the minority of racists in the country all you'll see is racism. The vast majority of people in America are not racist and we are not a racist country.
