While I hate no human being and while I hope for all to receive redemption and salvation, I will continue to hate false teaching and false twisting of the Word of God. People can call that whatever they please, but I will not support what I know in my heart is not the Truth from the Word of God.
Agree false teachers are so harmful!

I have had the absolutely unpleasant experience of being minimally influenced by a charismatic false teacher until I realized as he revealed himself ... they act so holy but will judge you very harshly for any shortcomings.

One thing I learned for sure is eventually you will find yourself in bondage ... striving and working for something you already possess.

And they tie up burdens heavy and hard to bear and lay them on the shoulders of men; but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.

i think we each support our Own Beliefs here and/or what the Spirit has revealed to Us each Individually (in whatever particular Way and Measure). and just because we Call another's Beliefs False -- doesn't make it so. :)

The Greatest Gift

1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body [a]to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, [c]thinks no evil; 6does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10But when that which is [d]perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

11When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Not willing to apologize because of too much pride and too little love.

I understand what you are saying, but I really don't think we can attribute all beliefs to what the Holy Spirit has revealed, when clearly there is a right way, since we are exhorted to rightly divide the Word. Plus, there are doctrines of demons.

"He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in
him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies."

Good point. As you can see, this thread is occupied by a number of people who use the word "truth" loosely.

Whatever they regard as truth for them, they want to believe it is THE truth for all.

After all, if you see it from their perspective, if they really believe what they hold as truth is THE truth, then by definition, anyone who disagrees with them must be preaching falsehood, a twister of the Word of God, and so on and so forth.

Who uses the word truth loosely? You? You have occupied this thread...

Or, oh! I get it, it is others, but not you, right?

Is this true? Or was Jesus lying?

"I am the way, the Truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me."

Did you include yourself when talking about people who use the word truth loosely? It did not seem like you had.

Also, does absolute truth exist? And if it does, can we know it?

I answer both in the affirmative.

What say you?

My perspective is always entertain the possibility that one is viewing something from a different lens. It is truth for them, even if they don't agree with your particular lens.

You may hold something to be absolute truth for you, but if others don't see it the same way as you, there is no need to come down hard on them. Be patient, and learn to agree to disagree.

Biblical truth is not determined or defined by personal preference.

There are an infinity of angles at which one falls but only one at which one stands straight.

Jesus stated I came to bear witness to the truth, everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice..

And Pontius Pilate asked to him, What is truth?

As I said, you can believe that the truth you hold for yourself is indeed your absolute truth.

The way you respond to people who disagree with you, tells others how open you are to understanding the truths that other people hold.

You can try to understand their point of view, their version of truth, without necessary having to accept it as truth for yourself.

Understanding where they are coming from, does not require you to agree with them.

There is such a thing as absolute truth.....NO WHERE are we instructed to "know where someone is coming from" when it comes to the absolute truth that God seeks for us to embrace......this is one of the biggest problems within Christianity.....chunking the truth in favor or religious appeasement and ecumenicalism.......it is utterly sickening how some will coddle error for the sake of some fake unity!

And how do you know, with absolute certainty, that you are not the one in error?

By the number of "likes" you get?
