Well I have always felt a kindred spirit David, He and I seem to have a lot in comon we both have the same kind of love and joy in the Lord, we both have inner warriors inside us even though the giants of this world just see a weak little boy and even in my way of writing poems he and I are similar

Although I took a who are you in the bible personality test for fun but it said I was more like moses.

In my opinion, those who worry about doing the right things, because we tend to let our emotions at times get the best of us. Are in the right frame of mind for God. Things just make us so mad when we see our loved ones hurt because the Enemy has attacked them. I believe we can be used by God in ways others can never. Even though David was with Bathsheba, had Uriah killed, and had a baby out wedlock/Adultery, God STILL said he was a man after His own heart!

Nice, I might have to take that test myself. Sometimes I feel like I could be God's pain in the butt (Apostle Peter)(and David) hahahahaha

So for you to believe, you would have to see someone speak in tongues and have the language be recognized by someone else present?

The Bible does not guarantee that.

So tongues are a placebo? When Paul said that when a person speaks in tongues he is speaking to God, giving thanks well, edifying himself (and when interpreted, edifying the church), he was saying things that really don't mean anything?
Acts 2 did. The principle here is to use clear scripture to interpret the vague ones.

5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

As for your second point, as I have said, this is a non-salvific issue so you could be right, I could be right, no big deal. (Romans 14:5)

If one believes that praying in tongues give him benefits than praying in ordinary language cannot provide, I am fine.

If nothing else, it has placebo benefits.

Oh trust me I know the feeling I can try to find the link to it for you, but I also want to try other sites like that because I think some may have more accurate ones than others.

Well I think there may be more than one kind of tongues, there seems to be a tongues for intercession which is between you and God and thus requires no interpretations, there also seems to be a tongues for self edification also between you and God and then there seems to be tongues for the church or for other people in general which does require an interpreter

I would love to find more chirsitan games like this, like what if there is one for what calling you are in? I don't know how true any of them are but it is fun

Yes, people who hold that view are relying on the more vague statements by Paul in 1 Cor 12-14, instead of Acts 2.

Oh well, as I have stated, this is a non-salvific issue, so I have no problems understanding where they are coming from. (Romans 14:5)

Which Bible Character Am I?
For 30% you are: So which Bible character are you the most like? You are Jacob! You were always Mum's favourite growing up, and you could pretty much get whatever you wanted from Dad. You have a knack for getting on well with people. Sometimes you're not entirely honest, though....

Ha, I said I might be Peter, God's pain in the Butt hahahaha

I will definitely take Jacob, Abraham's grandson and who we call Israel. Plus he wrestled with the Angel (Jesus) in his dream. I can live with either choice!

Yeah it may not be a salvation issue but one thing for sure though is it shouldn't be dones in the wrong way, whenever I am in the presence of so called tongues I just get this uneasy feeling inside almost like a get the heck away from them kind. I have had similar situations like that from people claiming to be prophets.

Either way the gifts are toys for us to play with

Yep, in that Paul is clear, tongues are meant as a sign to unbelievers. (1 Cor 14:22)

But because most of us were not taught the role of signs in the OT, starting from Exodus 4, we ignore that statement.

True even in the nt signs and wonders were used by Jesus to unbelievers. But I never had anyone to teach me and I still wish I had a teacher in my life but God has been a great teacher for me.
