Hard to believe Tom Petty has been gone for over two and a half years now

I love watching the looks that pass between the members as they perform this song,
showing their obvious affection for each other. Some of them were together for about
40 years. And that cute little shrug that Tom gives after saying "Watch her walk" @ 2:14,
gosh, they are all so young and beautiful. And Tom chewing gum while singing LOL.
Way to go, Tom. Thanks for all the music and memories. R.I.P. with much love

It's amazing how you portray love in some of these songs. You always find the heart of the song; the moments, the young feeling that's past but somehow replays itself like a LP over and over until the record hole is oblong. You capture that somehow. The Pioneer turntable, the Marantz 100 amp, the Boze speaker, the flash smile from a guy you don't know. You find it all Magenta! It's amazing
There's not too many songs that play out like that anymore. There's some, don't get me wrong. One for me was a time when I dreamed. Kind of unclouded by reality. A time when I felt close to God as a new thing. Novel. Not the everyday. It was a time when I could do it all. A time I would live forever. Even a time when I'm counting days left. God and I could do it all.

I did all that? Really? Oh :giggle: Thank you; I think you did that too, just now (y)

That is definitely a song for me, also. Wow, 2006? o_O Where has the time gone? :censored:
Still, it never gets old, does it? That is one thing about having a daughter who is thirty
one years younger than I am... she has helped me keep in touch with current music
Of course some of what she thought was great and original was actually from my time line :giggle:
You know, the classics from the sixties and seventies being redone by newer artists. And then
the songs we would discuss the lyrics to, wondering what it was about and what it meant, and
why is she lying naked on the floor? Haha that was Natalie Imbruglia, I think. "Torn."

There was the perhaps to-be-expected Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls era, and I even
took her to a Spice Girls movie to commemorate her passage into womanhood. I took
her to one of the Jann Arden concerts I went to, and also with my nephew/her cousin
to see Mark Knopfler when he opened up for Bob Dylan. I was impressed when my
daughter gave me a CD she put together for me of Evanesance's music. Not because
of their incredible music and Amy Lee's amazing and powerful voice, but because my
daughter so aptly grasped what would appeal to my tastes in music. We saw them
in concert also, and Rob Thomas as well. Yourself or Someone Like You is a gem :)

Keep an eye out for the pink zebra @ 3:12

And you know, one of my sweetest memories with my daughter is from that
Evanescence concert. They had something like 4 opening bands and the
venue was large with lots of open spaces and empty seats. Some of her
friends were going to be at the concert also, so we kept an eye out for them,
and they eventually came and sat a few rows down from us on the other side
of the aisle. I assured my daughter I was fine sitting by myself, and she joined
them. A few minutes later she turned around in her seat, and outstretched her
arm to me in this unmistakably yearning gesture of "Come sit with me." So I did

Just before Evanescence came on I went and got ice cream cones for all of us.
It must have been six cones. Only one her friends thanked me LOLOLOLOLOLOL.
I was just the mom haha. Two years later for her birthday, I took that same
friend of hers with my daughter to see Cold Play in 2006. (There's that year again :D)

We were sitting in a direct line to the stage at the far end of the stadium when
I noticed there was a commotion on the floor, and before I knew it, everyone was
looking behind us, so I turned around and there was Chris Martin singing the song
with a couple of women hanging off him o_O He continued singing as he started
back down the aisle, and so I got out of my seat and my daughter and her best friend
both got out into the aisle and when Chris Marin passed us by? We all got a piece
of him  My daughter's best friend thought it was the best birthday present ever :D

This woman's voice is astonishing! So clean - almost crystaline and though I couldn't understand her, I could feel her praise for the Almighty God of Israel. This was way cool. Thank you for sharing it.

Thank you 17Bees, yes that is a great way to describe her voice! After listening to her video yesterday, I wanted to find out more about her and discovered the sad news that she died earlier this month from covid-19. This beautiful sister is home now.

this is in Portuguese (I think)
Can someone translate (the majority) of what she shares here in her testimony?
I was curious to some of the comments left on youtube and put them into google translate,
I found out she recently went home to the Lord (June 4th, 2020 ) after complications from covid-19.

Newsboys, specifically their older songs, wasn't a big fan of God's not Dead, and anything by Apologetix
I love the (old)Newsboys!
Well Peter Furler (former lead singer- the bald dude) took a break for a while, but then came back and now technically they are Newsboys United, but I think most people just still call them "newsboys" I'm kicking myself b/c we could have seen a free show a couple years back at the fair but I didn't know the original guys were back so I wasn't interested. I kicked myself so hard when I saw a video from the show :( ........

ohhh I forgotten about Apologetix, are they still doing stuff?
Gonna have to go look them up..........
