Cant speak for others, but I didn’t know or ‘get’ who Christ was. Eg. humanity needing a sinless sacrifice for salvation. It was more about being good and/or earning God’s acceptance (in our own strength, as I see it)
I don't think all Christian denominations teach Trinity doctrineEhIsn't Jesus God in trinity?

I live in a catholic society (Poland). They seem to focus much praying for the dead to help them towards heaven. (if I understand it correct)
Absolutely and acknowledge this during each church service, that God is three separate entities, the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, comprising one God, and that Jesus died for our sins and He rose again on the third day.
Yes. The KJV was translated, literally, centuries ago. And still holds to the language used at the time. NLT is a modern translation first put out roughly 15 years ago.Ok

It's the same thing, just the type of language used varies due to the changes in the English language.

Catholics engage in many practices that go against Protestant Christian teachings. Such a praying to the dead, which is forbidden in the Old Testament.
I believe that what was forbidden in the Old Testament was consulting the dead, and not the actual praying for the dead. Could be wrong on this though and it wouldn't be the first time.
Praying to the dead is forbidden. Or any attempt to contact them. Praying for the dead is fruitless. Protestants don't believe in limbo of any kind. When you die, there's nothing more you can do to affect your salvation. Nor anything anyone else can do.
TRUE Sir, but I've been to several Catholic funerals where they prayed to the dead. Once we die, our destination is sealed. NOBODY can pray, or buy us into Heaven, or OUT of hell. ALL of the Saints, and Mary too, are dead, they should be praying to JESUS CHRIST instead of dead people.
Yes, there is a huge difference between praying for dead rather than praying to the dead.
