Just because YOU say it's not a protest doesn't mean that it is not. Others consider it a way of protesting. Just like sit ins are considered protesting and people are arrested for tresspassing. I really think it is time for me to take leave of this post. It's not getting anywhere. I'll just agree to disagree.

According to the law riots are a crime... protests are considered a right under several different parts of the constitution.... huge difference between them.
I never said whether I thought it was a crime or not. I said that people consider it a form of protesting. Again the focus keeps going back to riots and protesting and not the cause. Goodnight. I'm not going to keep responding to the samething over and over just from a different person. Bottom line a man died needlessly which is a CRIME, let's see what the LAW does about it.

Thing is police officers are rarely held accountable for their crimes and they almost always don't get the sentence they deserve
well, why don't you contact " crowds on demand", and they will get you involved and pay you to go out and protest the police state...
The first thing we need is some drastic policy changes
Better screening for hiring police officers
Fire the ones who have had multiple excessive force complaints
Stop training them like they're deployed on the streets of Mogadishu
when a police officer does break the law, he should be in jail that same day

This has gotten out of hand. The rioting has spread to other cities across America. Seven got shot rioting in Louisville, KY the other night and this rioting stuff is going on in many more cities now. Business and neighborhoods are being burned to the ground and people who had nothing to do with this is suffering.
What happened was wrong and horrible, but this is not the way to protest. America is already suffering enough, due to the coronavirus. Yet, now we have riots in the streets burning down neighborhoods...This needs to be stopped by whatever means necessary. There is no justification for this whatsoever...It is essentially terrorism.

Yes, this is happening in many US states now. The one in Louisville had started peaceful, but then turned to shooting in the crowd. The national guard is being deployed in KY now, due to intel that outside groups are planning to engage in these riots. Kentucky is already at the verge of bankruptcy. So we sure don't need groups burning down and destroying our biggest city.
New York which was the hardest hit with the coronavirus is also now being hit with rioting. This is sad and almost scary. I'm not sure what is going on in America right now, but it definitely isn't good.

Is America really going back to the old ways of doing things?
It should be noted that the family of the deceased does not condone these riots.
And I really hope that the people will go back to having a peaceful protest.
Fighting evil with evil is never the answer. And I really hope that there won't be a situation where the police just starts shooting looters/rioters. Won't that just lead to more injustice?
I don't want to see anyone get shot or hurt. However, this can't keep going on like it is. Peaceful protest are fine, but what is going on right now is not protesting. This is essentially terrorism and it most be stopped. I hope the rioters come to their senses, but they are destroying the US right now. The government cannot just sit back and watch a group of people strong arm their way into destroying America. Something has to be done to stop this.
I love how people are now attempting to name drop Dr. King as an example of how we SHOULD be protesting. You do understand that PEACEFUL protests were seen in the same light as violent ones, right? (Colin Kaepernick, anyone?)
Oh, and they MURDERED Dr. King for protesting peacefully. So stop glorifying it, as if we don't remember what happened. Black people didn't lose their way. They lost their LIVES.

Well, I guess times have changed. Let's be honest though. I'm not condoning anyone losing their lives, and I'm not going to condone any of this nonsense going on right now either. If you are condoning violent crowds burning down buildings and the likes then you really need to check yourself!
And just so you know police brutality and misconduct is not just a white and black thing...I live in an area that is 99% white, but guess what there is still a lot of police brutality going on, but you won't hear about it though because it is against white folks. Police need to be held accountable for their actions. Protests are fine, but violent crowds destroying property and endangering lives is also a crime and needs to be dealt with as so. Anyone committing crimes should be held accountable.
