Whenever people turn to worshiping idols (and sacrificing to idols is indeed worship), Satan and demonic spirits gain access to their hearts and minds, to turn them away from God, Christ, and the Holy Bible, and create mental, emotional, and spiritual problems for them. There is a whole raft of these problems which I will not list. But fearfulness and irrational fears pertain to "the spirit of bondage" (Rom 8:15), and personality and behavioral problems become evident. including envy. strife, confusion, and every evil work (James 3:14-16). This is called earthly, sensual, and devilish (demonic).
Solomon is a good example in the Bible. God gave him the gift of great wisdom, as well as great wealth. But he chose to marry idolatrous women, and then began to worship idols. It is alleged (outside the Bible but in the history of occultism, and may be true), that Solomon went into occultism and communication with evil spirits (the ones behind the idols).
1 KINGS 11: SOLOMON'S IDOLATRY
1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you:for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,
10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.
11 Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
Your explanation is a logical response to an illogical question.In a sense, yes: it's the questioner expecting the responder to set aside his or her thinking in order to satisfy the demand, "Answer my question!".

no other besides me IMO means no other like me, demonstrating the greatness or majesty. the Is. passage has the babylonians using the exact same phrase, i dont thnk they are proclaiming they are the only city of this world.
There are no other gods, fallen angels never will amount to a god. So I do challenge this thinking of yours. Since nothing ever amounts to a god but God Himself, everything can be worshipped and that substitute as a god in peoples lives.
It really is not worth as much effort either of us are putting into this. I am not saying I disagree with you at all. But I do feel you have misunderstood what I was saying. Therefore, let's just leave it at that.

the Most High, and "gods, a god" are two different things. the Most High is the Father, the creator of all things, there is only one Most High. gods are lesser beings, heavenly beings if you like. look up "elohim" in a study bible and research it for yourself.
Psalm 82:1
God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment:
here you have the Most High presiding in His divine council with other gods, all are there together at the same time and same place.

They do not exist, they are lies.
The phrase in the prophecy shows that Babylon, the city, was conceited, she thought her iniquities would never be discovered. She thought she had safety in her witchcrafts, but she was very wrong, and the Lord God did destroy her and all her children, and all her enchantments and all her sorcerers could not save her from the mighty hand of the One True God.
