1 Timothy 2:11-15

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
Do you really think that quoting Scripture at me is going to change anything? I read the same Scripture you do, but I don't have the same conclusions, because I have done my homework on the matter.

I find that which you consider to be nonsense to be nonsense.
That's ok brother. Obviously, we have a different spiritual perception on this topic hence this amusing exchange. Let's go in peace now. :)

The key phrase is "But I suffer not". Nowhere does is state that God suffers not. Don't get that Adam and Eve have any relevance to the topic at hand. Are you insinuating that Adam was stupid because he ate the forbidden fruit even though he was not deceived? Regarding the last verse you provided, I guess if she was past childbearing she would not be saved. "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection" is not the same as stating that the woman must learn in silence and all subjection.

I think it's about time for another 'women can't wear pants church' thread and it's spin-off 'music is not allowed in church' thread. Now, those are classic examples of high-entertainment venues.

Currently enjoying the 'alcohol is a sin' thread too which states, albeit not conclusively, that Jesus actually turned water into Welch's grape juice at the wedding at Cana. Apparently, there are a few that don't know the definition of the word 'wine'. Reminds me back in the day when Bill Clinton said, under oath during grand jury testimony, "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is." I'm picking up the same kind of mojo on this thread.

It’s like a cop asking someone how many beers they drank and the person responds by saying they didn’t drink any beer, just water with barley and hops.

So a woman is not to usurp authority over a man. It's very simple.

Well Adam and Eve is extraordinarily relevant. The woman was made for man, not the man for the woman. The woman is really easily deceived by Satan and his lies. This is why it is very important not to let women teach or bear authority. It is against their nature, and it really is just letting the old dragon have a free for all. Even without deferring to the Bible look at how most evil things in today's time, one of the evilest times of all recorded history, are championed largely by women and the men whom have become effeminized and allow it, just like king Ahab.

David Pawson has a good book about this, anyone interested in the orthodox view point on this issue can check it out if they please. Remember to look at the fruit each doctrine has produced, ever since we went against the Apostle's guidance on this (in my opinion) has the church gotten better or more apostate? You decide.
Agreed. Show me a Church so liberal that women pastors proliferate and I will show you a latter day Laodocean Church hurling down the broad road of apostasy destined for the dead end of judgement.

Pr 31:4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

Impairment begins with the first drink. Yet it can also be medicinal. What a paradox.

So, you are saying that men don't become deceived? What experience do you have in determining a woman's nature? Regarding being deceived, perhaps men, in general, are just ignorant.

Sure men can be deceived, and it's usually by women like the case of Samson and Delilah or like Jezebel and Ahab, or like most of the wicked men today. Just open your eyes and look around at these wicked generations that obstinately do everything the total opposite of what God and his holy men told us.

The point though on Adam and Eve and women not having authority nor on them being allowed to teach though goes back to the Garden as Paul elaborates. It's because the woman was deceived by Satan, but Adam was not deceived. Even remember in Genesis what does the Lord God say when he curses man? He says because you hearkened to the woman. And of course in this passage the woman being able to be saved in childbirth is an echo also back to Genesis of when God put the curse upon her to magnify her pain in childbirth and decreed that she is to be subject to her husband.

It's very simple to see that you have not done your homework on this matter.
You would be incorrect. I merely haven't allowed the liars to convince me that God and his holy men are wrong.

Nowhere in Scripture is it suggested that either Eve or women in general were or are "easily deceived".

This is why it is very important not to let women teach or bear authority.
If that were really God's intent, Deborah would not have been a judge. Nothing in Scripture supports your statement.

It is against their nature, and it really is just letting the old dragon have a free for all.
Bull hockey. Closed-mindedness exemplified. I suspect you've never heard of Margaret Thatcher, Indira Gandhi, or Queen Victoria.

Nothing in Scripture suggests that Ahab was effeminate. The rest of your statement is just groundless blather.

I am certain that I am correct, because you quoted the verse without demonstrating any recognition that you used a poor translation of "authentein".

Go hit the books.

Regarding Ahab, I believe that he was the captain of the whaling ship Pequod. He certainly was not effeminate. "Call me Ishmael...".

It says woman was deceived by Satan but man was not deceived. This is the precedent.

Deborah didn't bear authority, Deborah was a good woman because she gave the authority to a man, Barak. On top of this Deborah even makes a song making fun of Sisera for being killed by the hand of a woman.

Yea I know about all three of those evil women.

Yes Ahab was effeminate, he let his wicked wife run him straight down the paths of evil. Like Elijah said to him, "never before was there one so wicked as Ahab whom his wife Jezebel stirred up with all her whoredoms."

Ahab was one of Israel's most wicked kings, along with his highly evil wife Jezebel (whose spirit is also forewarned about in the book of Apocalypse). Ahab's story is found largely in the book of 1 Kings where he and Jezebel are set at odds with the prophet of God, Elijah.

Well yes, that is why he is effeminate. Effeminate does not just mean they're gay, though that too. It means they have the qualities of a woman. Look at how effeminized today's society is. It is a very terrible thing because once a society becomes effeminized every lie of Satan that you can imagine proliferates. Once the good order that God ordained is thrown into disorder it just becomes a hellish free for all for the Devil. If you think about it, it is the Garden of Eden and the Fall all over again.
