Hello and thank you for your question. What you have stated is a good beginning, but believing these things alone will not result in saving faith. James 2:19 You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. Mere intellectual believe will not save you. Of course, I believe that you are implying more than just intellectual belief, but rather a more heartfelt belief. Faith and belief in something is useless unless we act on that belief. Jesus said in Luke 13: 5 "I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish." First of all, before the Holy Spirit acts on our hearts, we are dead in our sins and unable to do good. When we begin to have faith, through the power of God's Word, (Scriptures), Holy Spirit acts on our hearts to change us and make it possible for us to act on our faith and accept His wonderful gift of salvation. At this moment, we are changed from being dead in our sins to being alive in Christ. We are then made aware of our past separation and enmity with God, and given the power to repent and to live new lives in Christ. We are then sanctified by living a life in obedience to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At first this is not easy, but as we mature in our Christian faith, we become ever more like our Savior. This maturity is achieved through prayer, reading Scriptures, and fellowship with other Christians. As we mature, we come to love Jesus, and it is through this love for Him and His Church (other Christians), that we grow in faith. Jesus said in John 14: 15 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. A true Christian will be known by His obedience to God's will, a truly changed life, and a love for others and for God. God bless!
