I'm not sure or can speak for what the COVID-19 outbreak is like for other countries, but for the US people have taken this a bit too far. Sure there are people that are more susceptible to a more serious strain of this virus so they should stay home and/or talk to their employer of what they can do from home if anything. They shouldn't be touching people and keeping their paws to themselves and if they must touch someone else or use something that is shared use hand sanitizer first. Do not cough or sneeze without doing it in your arm and wash your hands immediately and then use sanitizer and resume what you were doing, people would at least respect you if you were trying to keep your germs to yourself. But the media needs to stop talking about it. The only people that need to be sharing any updates are the CDC leaders, governors and our Presidents. The media has spiraled this way out of control to where people are completely freaked out because as they tell you when you are looking for something hard enough you generally find it. We can be aware without being paranoid about this COVID-19 outbreak here in the US.
The people in the US need to take for more serious than they are sadly, because if they do not it will not be good.

Certainly things are getting worse by the hour.
Europe is pretty much like when a nation is at war.
that is interesting some 6,390 deaths per hour every hour of the day, wonder how this is handled across the globe.

So all you have to do is install a hand sanitizer dispenser at the entrance with a posted sign, and request an announcement that all who enter sanitize their hands. Personal hygiene should be a given, but since that is not always the case, signs can be posted in washrooms also.
The company I work for asks the employees to use hand sanitizer frequently but then said that they cannot provide any because there is none available. Hand sanitizer is basically just isopropyl alcohol in gel form.

I dont go to church when Im feeling unwell. I dont work when Im feeling unwell either.

I do know that there are people that push others and themselves to work no matter what.
You are making a good point here. For the workaholics and those who think spending quiet days at home is the worst thing ever, they may push themselves to go out. They will even ignore their feelings of unwell.

But it's a time to Be Still, as Moses commanded the people just before crossing the red sea.

Yes, be still and let God go ahead and fight this battle. Amen

Out of all due respect, do you live in the US? I do and am watching the media as well as watching the public's reaction to this and it's literally insane. Within two weeks of it hitting Seattle people starting hoarding toilet paper, food, and supplies. There is a way of educating people without making people feel like they have to freak out and panic over this. Trump has been doing his best to remain calm and deliver his messages to encourage and uplift people to remember that this will pass and then the media just blows just right past him. They have done this his entire presidency which is not right. The bible says there is a time and a season for everything and in that we trust him. Yes, we need to be prepared but we cannot live in fear because that is not of God. Wash our hands more often and be aware of what our hands touch and how close people get to us as well as how close we get to others.

I am not speaking to people's reaction....I agree that people should not panic.

I have nothing against Trump.in general but he has done too little to late...and innthe next weeks the numbers will increase exponentially and no matter what he does now the economy is going to suffer and it will not be pretty.
Containment is not even possible the best US can do is manage it.
No one knows how many are infected because there were no reliable test kits....managing a epidemic means knowing who is infected

You know if the USA had reliable tests and had started testing people a long time ago we would know how many are infected Covid -19

Up to date US national information is available at www.cdc.gov. There is a list by state on the cdc site.

Below is Florida's DOH real time information page. This site also lists the number of US and world wide cases reported. I really don't see a reason for panic.

Stores are open here, but schools have shut down, and are in the process to switching students to online classes. The school shutdown is putting a massive burden on working parents.

And yes TP is plentiful in stores.

i can agree with that but this heighten state of awareness might be coming from trying to stop the virus from being the normal like the other 79 contagious diseases. but like the current strain of the flu that is in the U.S. has been here since around 1920/30s. Which was transmitted from pigs to humans, they were not able to wipe it out contain it and is still around today, like the most of the other 80 or so contagious disease. i think its to late to contain it futile that is out of bag so to speak its in a uncontrollable state right now maybe if they create a vaccine might kill the virus or the virus lives on to infect people who haven't got the vaccine yet.

Flu do indeed return every year that is why they are seasonal and that is why it hard to pin down a vaccine for them.

This is not a flu virus in that way.

Panic is never helpful, an accurate understanding of the virus, the risks and prevention is, I think.

they do not know that yet its only a couple of months into it and a lot of communicable diseases are not seasonal diseases.

not saying we shouldn't keep up on the hand washing etc. but i do not think it can be contain.

can people live hunkered down until a vaccine is created might take months for that to happen or a year. the lock down can only run for so long or there will be civil unrest that the world hasn't seen yet. that is on my mind how long can a world population stay on lock down.

This virus is new. it did not exist a long time ago. It would be great if we could wiggle our nose and test kits would appear out of no where. They don't. It takes time to develop a process, test it and get it ready for production. It takes time to gear up production to a level to meet the demand for the kits. Also while production is on going, newer and better test kits become available.

Right.... South Korea was more prepared....

The US right now has no idea how many are infected... containment is pretty much impossible.

So far, the U.S. has dramatically lagged behind other nations hard-hit by the novel coronavirus and the respiratory disease it causes, Covid-19. U.S. labs conducted roughly 2,500 tests per day on March 9, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. South Korea, a nation with a population roughly six times smaller than the United States, had conducted roughly 20,000 tests daily.

The Trump administration has weathered heavy criticism for the slow testing ramp-up — first, for declining to simply use an existing test developed by the World Health Organization, and later for distributing tests that didn’t work.

Sourcing TP in the Tampa/St. Petersburg metro area is a bit problematic. Hopefully, in a couple months the toilet paper crisis in America will have abated.
