There is not just one church age. There are seven church ages, one church age for each letter written to the seven churches in Asia. However we are in the age of the church of Laodicea.

why then is the woman seated on the scarlet beast in Revelation 17? isn't that relevant to the last days, not just some age past?

i don't think these are 7 ages. i think they are 7 types that are present among us now, just as they were each one present when John received the revelation.

That is fair only I begin at a kindergarten level and build on that. I have four college level teacher training classes for sunday school starting with children one year of age. I realize that I study the Bible at a level that most people will not study at until they get to Heaven.
But unfortunately, somewhere along the way you started kicking up so much dust that you are now drinking muddy water of deception and not the clean living water of our Messiah.

My father served our community as a physician for over 50 years. Six days a week 12 hours a day. I can assure you that SCIENCE does not have all the answers and solutions. The Bible (Ie God) Does have all of the answers and all of the solutions. That is why I serve God and not Science. There will never be a question God will not give you an answer for. You will never ever have a problem in life that God does not have a solution for. Science far to often creates more problems than they solve and creates more questions than they answer.

Maybe your translation does not have all the answers and solution. That is why we have to go back to the original Bible and study that for ourselves. The Bible is very clear that the HOLY Spirit is to be our Teacher and our Guide. I actually have days I spend up to 18 hours to read, study and learn my Bible. I can remember spending up to 12 hours a day just reading my Bible.

I do not actually know what you are complaining about. It sounds like negativity to me and I like to think on what is good and positive. "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." (Phil4:8)

I get your point and your question is valid. We should understand that Johns revelations were of the future I studied the book of Revelation hard for about eight years and there is so much that I could not answer of figure out. I tried to figure out the sequence of the vials, trumpets and seals but I was not able to figure it out. I was able to match historical events to the discription of the seven chruches. Here is a small example of what my research revealed to me.
The church of Smyrna, which came into existence around 67 A.D. was the persecuted church. The word “Smyrna” comes from the root word spelled “myrrh” or “myrrha” (pronounced myrra) and means “to be strengthened.” It is an aromatic resin and an ingredient in a sacred anointing oil used by the high priest in the temple. Exodus 30:23-25 says, "Take also to you principle spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels, And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel (weight) of the sanctuary, and of oil (from) olive an hin: And you shall make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil".
Because it was a resin from a certain tree or shrub, it had to be beaten or crushed before it could be used as the resin would dry and harden after extraction and the more it was beaten and crushed the more fragrant the risen became. It was very expensive and very fragrant. The Christians of the church of Smyrna were also beaten and crushed. But the more they were beaten and the more they suffered, the more fragrant was their testimony and faith in Christ. In them we see the age-old statement, “The blood of martyrs is the seed of the church.”

The church age of the church of Smyrna lasted from 67AD until about 312 AD. when the persecution of the church was halted by Constantine the Great.
The woman riding the scarlet beast is an interesting subject. The correct way to spell Europe is "Europa" and Europa is a goddess. The legend say that she was stuck on an island and Zeus disguised himself as a bull and presented himself to her. She got on the bull and rode the bull to Greece where they mated and she had children.The interesting thing is that right now outside of the EU headquarters in Brussels Belgium there is a statue of a woman riding a reddish colored bull and she has the bull by the horns. If you pay close attention to the descriptions of the seven churches you will find for an example that the church of Ephesus is nothing like the church of Laodicea. The church of Ephesus was an anointed church.
Rev 2:2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
Rev 2:3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

Verses the description of the church of Laodicea.
Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

I don't believe for a minute that both of these two church types are existing at the same time in our day and time. A church age would be speaking of the over all condition of the church of the day in general as a whole and we are nothing like the church of Ephesus today.

People are usually guilty of what they accuse others of. So maybe you need to get over yourself so you can begin to see what God can do for you in your life. I would be dead if I was not here giving you a testimony about God and what HE has done in my life. He has resurrected me to many times so that I can continue to give a witness and a testimony for Him.

I believe that there are 7 churches in the world today. We are told: "The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches." (Rev1:20) At times it seems like a church is a combination of two of the churches in Rev. It maybe difficult to figure out which one it is. So we can know what our reward will be if we manage to overcome.

I always assume that people are guilty of what they accuse me of because that is what the Bible teaches. So I do not pay any attention when people try to accuse me, because I know that they are just telling on themselves. To address your point we are talking about the teachings of Jesus: " "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3) This is the scripture we are doing a study on. Is there a comment you would like to make about what Jesus is teaching us here?

There is a much simpler way to understand the seven letters...

That they were seven letters to seven specific city congregations in the first century, and that the situations described therein were specific to those congregations at that time. The didactic value for today is found in embracing or avoiding the specific practices identified, rather than in combing 2000 years of history to see what supposedly fulfills their "prophetic message". :)

Yes I agree that is a more simpler way of viewing those seven letters and you are correct in that the rebukes are lessons for the church of today. On the subjects of the book of Revelation, the early church history and the religion of Islam God put into me this unquenchable desire to research, study and write down what I discovered. The desire for deeper knowledge of the word of God and the other two subjects was powerful and while I was in those periods in my life I couldn't get my quest out of my mind and know I get joy out of sharing the knowledge God has blessed me with.

Good question, I dont know. Sorry.

I think giants arent a seperate species of human but they just got to be that way because of some gene that cant turn its self off and possibly they ate something that activated it. Because it sems to me the guiness book of records giants had ordinary size parents, otherwise their entire family would be in the Guiness Book of Records, but they aren't.

Although some families can be generally smaller than others i.e pygmy peoples and those living in tropics tend to be smaller than those living in the mountains.

People are generally taller now than they were hundreds of years ago because of nutrition, but I expect that years before and after the flood the world was not so polluted as it is now. so if they had food in abundance they would have been able to grow so much more.

Actually it was Fraud that developed the theory of psychological projection. His daughter did most of the work on the theory but she wanted to give the credit to her father.

Worrying about how things such as this are possible is the result if one insists on interpreting the Bible literally, as if a reporter was there taking down events and reporting them as history. There's much deeper meaning to much of what is written in Genesis in my opinion.
Why would something that literally happened and recorded in the bible not in itself have the deeper meaning that is usually ascribed to figurative interpretations of scripture?

I do not see any indication that the "sons of God" are angels. It looks like they are the Godly descendants of Adam and Eve. They are the sons of God because in Genesis 2:7 "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul". The breath of life here in the Hebrew is "neshamah" נִשְׁמַ֣ת In Genesis 1:24 the word living is "Chay" חַי.

There is a gland that makes them a giant. In some cases if they do not get the condition under control it can cost them their life. What part of the body regulates when we should stop growing? If we did not stop growing we would be as big as the universe in about 30 years. I did not want to pay for the doctors when my son was born. It turned out to be a mistake but I took my wife to the free clinic. They gave her lots and lots of tests. Because the women that go to those free clinics live a very high risk lifestyle and they have to test them for a lot of different health conditions that they are at risk for. I know people that were foster parents for high risk children. At the time the issue has to do with fetal alcohol syndrome. I suppose today with all of the drugs they have all sorts of problems with that.
gigantism is extremely rare..whole populations do not suffer from gigantism and that a few in a population is normal while an entire race is not and has never existed

therefore, your attempt to alter what is described in scripture illustrates your own lack of information, not to mention the apparent ability to decide what is and what is not actually true in scripture because as we all know, everyone was ignorant back then :cautious:

there is NO gland that makes a person a giant. no one pops out a gland and becomes a giant.
