Yanno, this is precisely the reason, the Disciples and Apostles of Christ warned "the gentiles of their day" of "spinning their wheels" concerning "the law!"
For "following the law", yet, they did not comprehend what they were doing.
IOW?
Tis better to be in the orchard thinking about God, then it is in "following the Mosaic law" and thinking about "OH!" "What such a good boy I am!"
