You need more faith to beat Seoulsearch, obviously.

Aw, no reason to "beat" me. :) It's definitely not a competition... We all have our own God-given writing styles. :)

Look I tried to get fellowship going for the oldies on here with my weird threads, but there were hardly any takers. I blame Solesearch for starting interesting threads.
Don't give up, MoreFaith! I've read some of your threads but wasn't sure if you were just venting, or what kinds of responses you were seeking?

I came here in 2009 and had never written threads before, so it's taken a lot of trial and error (emphasis on the errors.) I even wrote a few threads asking people what kinds of topics they were interested and what made a thread easier to read, which influenced much of the way I write threads now.

But please know that I've had PLENTY of misses, and lots of threads that have been total bombs. When people ask me how I come up with threads, my only answer is, because for some reason, I was too stubborn to give up trying! :)

I hope you'll keep trying, too! You have excellent ideas.

And know that a good part of it can also be the current CC audience, which changes all the time. You could write a thread today and get next to no responses because the current crowd is shy or can't relate, then write that same thread 4 months from now and have it explode because there are no members who want to answer this time around.

Also, just because no one is answering doesn't mean people aren't listening. :) I've had threads where no one answered, but at the time, I felt God was telling me to go ahead and post it anyway because maybe it was meant for even just one person to read (even if that person was me!)

Kudos to you for all your hard work.

I’m no good at creating threads so I’m totally dependent on the creative thread creating people.

Laissez les bon temps rouler😁.

Oh, you've written some great ones, Susanna. :)

I have to admit, my one pet peeve is when people complain that there aren't any new or interesting threads, or that they're all about the same things over and over, but never write threads themselves.

But Susanna, at least you try!!! And, you're more familiar with French, but yet you still write awesome posts and threads in English! (Same with Tinkerbell and several others.) I would encourage anyone who has an inkling to write a thread to just try, and keep trying. It's like anything else, it'll get better with time. But I do realize that the majority of people say they're more comfortable answering a thread than starting one.

And... Yikes. Sorry about all the typos in the thread I just posted before this. o_O Like I said, I have lots of errors and misses!

(And unlike some of our amazing members here, I can't even claim that English is my second language.) :cautious:

Yeah, you can post the same thread every four months or so!

Wait... that sounds like some preachers' sermons...

i do have the Catholic virus to be fair.
We have some very highly respected members in Singles who are also Catholic.

I was in two different denominations in the past that pretty much see each other's teachings as the work of the devil.

We just try our best to respect each other's differences and enjoy the fellowship as God leads us all. 🙂

I say we all handcuff Susanna to the Christmas tree so she has ample time to consider why gifting handcuffs is particularly awkward. Lol
