I’m sorry. I just have to jump in here. The bonnet is a misogynistic symbol. Women have been burning them for at least 50 years. To suggest women should wear them once more only shows the state of your soul. How dare you.

So sorry, but I've been told the very shape of my very round head is just MUCH too provocative for any mere bonnet.

Why, the flimsy thing would simply cling to the back of my head suggestively, and alas, no man could control himself.

Some of us just can't win either way. (Sigh.)

What are you using for bait? Perhaps the lure you are casting is too successful at catching the wrong “fish”. Where do you meet these disappointments? Where do they find you?
 
After reading this thread I’ve decided to start wearing a bonnet. Also I’ll get me a Covered Wagon and be heading out west😁.

You can change your perception of others by focusing and looking inward at self. For me personally when i forgive and be completely transparent with myself i am more willing and able to accept,forgive and tolerate others. Practice of this is one of those things that takes time and work, but it does work. You also might want to look into listening to or creating your own positive affirmations for self forgiveness.
