SAME HERE! I also found a slight typo in the Post about the Baptist Missionary from Africa. My mouth FELL open. I was totally shocked that GREED was the only reason he served on the Mission field. I think he will have a big shock in store for him, even if he is saved, which I doubt, but that wood will be burned up in the fire that tests our works, to see if they are worthy of a heavenly reward. Had he said it at the beginning of his Sermon, I would have immediately walked out.

Yes my wife and I were Married for over 36 years, and I am thank for that. Glad you were patient enough with me to try to stir my memory.
Sadly, some standing at a pulpit are there for the money just like the Baptist Missionary you spoke about.

My wife and I have been together 29 years. Sometimes I'm thankful and some times not so much...lol.
In all seriousness and sincerity though, our marriage is a blessing and one more thing I give myself no credit for, as God keeps us together and sustains our love for each other. What she has ever seen in me to make her want to stay with me, I don't know.

Thank you for your gracious words friend, I'm glad to have you back, and look forward to seeing you around here.

John 14:15 (HCSB)
15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commands.

I am going to try to explain this verse ultra simply, and am addressing this post to those who still think we have to KEEP HIS COMMANDS to qualify for Salvation. First and FOREMOST, Notice that If you love Me comes BEFORE it says will keep. That is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. That GOD given LOVE has to be there prior to you Will Keep His commands, because the Motive and Motivation for WILL KEEP, has to be BECAUSE of that LOVE HE put in you. Where does it SAY HE put that GOD given LOVE in us?

Romans 5:5 (HCSB)
5 This hope will not disappoint ⌊us⌋, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Yes, you can TRY to Keep HIS commands without having that GOD Given LOVE in you; but that is just modern day Pharisee-ism.

I hope you all can listen and actually HEAR with understanding, that those who are SAVED, in the following VERSES. had that GOD Given LOVE in them.

Matthew 25:31-46 (HCSB)
31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on the left.
34 Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you took care of Me; I was in prison and you visited Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink?
38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or without clothes and clothe You?
39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and visit You?’
40 “And the King will answer them, ‘I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’
41 Then He will also say to those on the left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels!
42 For I was hungry and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me nothing to drink;
43 I was a stranger and you didn’t take Me in; I was naked and you didn’t clothe Me, sick and in prison and you didn’t take care of Me.’
44 “Then they too will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or without clothes, or sick, or in prison, and not help You?’
45 “Then He will answer them, ‘I assure you: Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me either.’
46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

You see the MOTIVE for those Deeds, HAS TO BE OUT OF THAT GOD Given LOVE, or it does not count. We are SAVED permanently WHEN the Holy Spirit pours that GOD Given LOVE into our HEART (Human Spirit), and IT WILL permanently changes YOU. The deeds have NOTHING to do with Saving our Salvation, but IF THAT LOVE IS THERE, the change it produces is an ongoing manifestation of that LOVE going out to others and TO GOD.

You see that will keep is in the GREEK Aorist Tense, something we do not Have in English. It implies "without boundaries", therefore it is a lifestyle CHANGE in us that will never end. It does not indicate perfection, as it MAY have an occasional stumble or fall, but the DOMINATE LIFESTYLE is Permanantly CHANGED to KEEP ON STRIVING TO KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. Yes, we are to continue to strive to be like CHRIST, but we will not be perfect until HE GIVES US THAT GLORIFIED BODY at the Resurrection.

God does not find guilty those He has pronounced innocent.

Either Christ imputes His righteousness or He does not ...you cannot have it both ways.

Sin was dealt with at the cross.

And you had better be careful what you accuse us of.

Blaming the grace of God for sin is your perverted logic here....but you cannot see it can you?

Paul was not impressed and had some stern words of warning for them, dig deep into Romans and you will learn why your slander against grace is in fact the antithesis of the Gospel and why Paul made the statement below.

King James Bible Romans 3:8
And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
God forsook Jesus because He cannot look on sin. Prior to that Jesus was sinless, then He took our sins upon himself, and God forsook him.
You be careful.

One time in Crescent City, CA. when I was delivering mail to an apartment, the woman who was the EPISCOPAL Priest, came down stairs without her Collar on. I said "Nothing for you today." And she said, "I know, I get most of my mail where I WORK."

That seemed like a very strange thing for a Pastor to Say! Apparently it is just a JOB to her.

I do not preach grace is a licence to sin...so I have no need to be careful.:)

I did not say a word about doing works. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 has not a single good human work listed in it. It has a lack of works to be exact, lack of certain works, which will keep us from the Kingdom. Those works being the sins mentioned. Evil works.
News flash
repenting of your personal sins are good works
so you are wrong. You did exactly what I said

No where, but it was brought up by another person I was simply responding to it. The point was the same as in John 15, abide in the vine or the Father will cut us off.

Joh 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

How to abide? Here is how:

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

There is always that if somewhere when you read the entire book. Chapter and verse numbers have done a number on us as David Pawson used to say.
Your problem is you think wrong

Being cut of means you can not produce fruit. Not that you lose salvation

Second. All of gods children obey. That is not a prerequisite. (Do this or else) It is a description thus those who abide in him obey and through it produce fruit and receive reward
salvation is a gift. Your telling people they have to earn a gift. Your in error

It says they are thrown into the fire? Does not sound like just not being able to produce fruit, granted it does that too. This again is an example of what I meant by explaining away simple verses.

There is no hope in this discussion so I believe its best we end it. We will end up going back and forth. Have a good night friend God bless you. I do not have any ill feelings toward you because of your position, I just believe it to be wrong and felt I had to say what I had to say for the sake of the readers, I believe you feel the same. Happy thanksgiving to all you Americans

Then be careful you do not blot your copybook.
It is only from an understanding of the scriptural truth of a secure salvation that one can truly serve the Lord... that is my contention and I am sticking with it.

All those ( a general those) who believe salvation can be lost serve themselves to maintain salvation.

As long as you serve the Lord, all the days of your life.

One is not serving the Lord if they believe their salvation is maintained by their works... it is not possible.

True, but that is not what I meant. Think of Paul running the race, he never stopped serving the Lord.
