In Revelation 3:20 Jesus says 'I Stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.' KJV
Now this verse often gets used in talking about receiving eternal life.
It is one of those verses though that has context giving it a different meaning.
So what Jesus is saying could very well apply to receiving eternal life ..
If it was actually about that!
So some contextual things...
1 Its about the Loadicean church
2 the surrounding verses are about overcoming luke-warmness.. buying gold 'tried in the fire' .. overcoming to sit with Jesus in His throne.
There are other verses like this.. where the verse alone can be perfectly applicable to something but when looking at the context aren't really about that thing.
