"How does "and your works do follow you" imprison anyone new to the faith? It is a part of the faith. Is it possible to find the fullness of Jesus Christ without them? I think people understand what a gift is.
Christians coming to the faith today are not "taught' they are under the law of Moses but of the grace of God They are taught Christ from the first words they hear.
Is it possible to learn the truth and fullness of Gods 'grace' without a study of the old Testament?

Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Hebrews 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
Hebrews 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit.
This has nothing to do with "keeping the law of Moses" which no Christian has EVER been asked to do. Christ brought us a NEW Covenant that affords us life, liberty, forgiveness.....
This has to do with a deeper study in Gods Word so that through that work we may be of more use to Him.
Ever wonder why God chose Saul/Paul instead of anyone else? Paul was zealous. Paul knew the Word of God better than most everyone else. He spoke multiple languages. Look whos feet he was taught under, one of the greatest scholars of all time. The only thing Paul had missed was that Christ was actually 'the Messiah'. Once God showed him that, well, most of the new testament to start..... And he never got paid. No where he went did he depend on anyone for anything, he worked his way through it all. A tent maker? along those lines.

rest,
people who are working, need rest, they take rest when they sit to take lunch or sit on break, or sleep, basically they stop working
god promises us who come to him rest, what is this?
it is when we stop working, in the biblical case, stop working at the law. Stop trying to meet some standard you think needs to be met to either make you qualified for entrance to heaven (salvation) or makes you appear like a god fearing god loving person, who is morally good, and acceptable to god as a child (makes him happy)
rest Is not going back to the law and trying to obey it, trying to live up to the standard you can NEVER live up to begin with, rest is sitting still, trusting god to work through you, and moving forward, knowing god has your back no matter what!
Paul spent his years as an apostle fighting the judiasers who continued to try to push gods children to go back to the burden their fathers could never live up to (the law) and its sad 2000 years later we still have people making the same mistake. Then saying they believe In rest

What Christian has ever been "under the law of Moses"? Not one. Not a single one. Never.
What Christian has ever been yoked to the law of Moses? not one
What Christian has ever died under the law of Moses? not one
What Christian has ever BEEN ABLE TO FOLLOW THE LAW OF MOSES? NOT ONE BECAUSE
Christians are of Christ and to become one you are taught CHRIST, SON OF GOD, WORD MADE FLESH, WHO DIED FOR OUR SINS, and THROUGH HIS BLOOD we find upon REPENTANCE, FORGIVENESS for our sins, and BY HIS STRIPES we are healed.
THAT IS THE BEGINNING OF BEING A CHRISTIAN. NO ANIMAL SACRIFICE EVER. WHY? THAT WAS THE LAW OF MOSES. AND ALL CHRISTIANS KNOW IT.
Paul may have had to fight "judaziers" but you don't. You just have to fight those who are following the command of JESUS to not abolish the law. Tell me how many Christians have you ever known or heard of sacrificed an animal for the forgiveness of their sins? I'll bet not one.
