There is MORE to the Gospel. For sure.
But the Gospel unto Salvation is SOLELY what HE did. His death and resurrection.
There are 2 elements of Romans 10:9-10. Confession AND belief. We can only see the confession part. We can't see whether a person truly believes.
Those people who hear "I NEVER knew you". Trusted in THEIR works. In THEIR obedience. That's why Jesus says He NEVER knew them. NOT that He knew them, (made them a new creation with a new heart) and that did, or didn't do something to lose what HE gave them. HE NEVER KNEW THEM!
Romans 10:9-10, “If you
declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For one believes with his heart and is justified, and
declares with his mouth and is saved.”
Jesus says different:
Mat 7:21, “
Not everyone who keeps saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will get into the kingdom from heaven, but only the person who keeps doing the will of my Father in heaven.”
What about all these verse that deal with entering the kingdom/eternal life? This is the reason why I started this, because people that nearly only quote Paul and ignore all these things Jesus said have a doctrine way different than Jesus:
John 5:28-29, " 28 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when
all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those
who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.
Matthew 25:31-46, " 31 “
When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And
he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.......45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And
these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
John 12:48, “He who rejects Me, and
does not follow My words has One Who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same will be used to
judge him in the last day.”
John 8:51 “Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone
guards My Word he shall never see death at all.”
John 12:25-26, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. He who loves his life shall lose it, and he who hates his life in this world
shall preserve it for everlasting life."
Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.”
Matthew 10:37-39, “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me, and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 “And
he who does not take up his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 “He who has found his life shall lose it, and
he that has lost his life for My sake shall find it.”
John 14:23-24, " 23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will
keep my word, and my Father will love him, and
we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.
Matthew 16:24-27, " 24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For
what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then
he will repay each person according to what he has done.
Matthew 25:31-46, " 31 “
When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And
he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ 41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And
these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Also you never answered my question about Jesus words in John 5:28-29.
