Acts 2:31, Jesus’ soul was not left in Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption

Soul in hades, body in grave. For three days

His soul was in Hades and His flesh, body was in the grave for three days

His body did not go to Hades, but He did.
I agree and that’s why I asked if the current view of Hades means the grave because Hades and the grave are not the same.

I already told you, the Human Spirit Separates from the BODY at death.
Unrighteous human spirit goes to Hades.
Righteousness of Christ, in the Born Again Christian goes to Heaven.

The Bible says so Specifically, if you believe the BIBLE.

Please read and understand my post before commenting VCO. I know that the spirit separates from the body at death. I know where good people and bad people go when that happens.

And please stop telling me to believe my Bible. I do believe every single word of it exactly the way it’s written.

The point that I was making is that Hades is hell and the grave is the grave. Some people believe and teach that Hades and the grave are the same but they are not.

I know they are not the same in acts 2:31.
God allowed the KJV translators to see this also and inspired them to translate all those different words into hell so that we can clearly see and understand what hell is.

That’s why I read the KJV, this was done hundreds of times to help us understand better.

What’s the problem? God can’t translate the original words, that meant something to them 2000 years ago but creates confusion for us today, into words that we can understand today?

Umm, are you not going to quote Strong or Lexicons about hades? Yap, I fail to understand your evidence. Expound more, please. Thanks VCO

I will try, but the evidence I gave was as Plain as the Nose on your face, in my opinion.

O.T. Saints, are those who believed GOD that HE would send a MESSIAH.

N.T. Saints, are those who believed GOD that HE did send a MESSIAH.

The same way HE saves everybody, as been the SAME WAY throughout history in both O.T. times and N.T. times.

Malachi 3:6 (NKJV)
6 "For I am the LORD, I do not change;
Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

Therefore the same way HE SAVED ABRAHAM is the Same Way HE SAVED EVERYBODY.

Romans 4:3 (HCSB)
3 For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.

What did Abraham believed GOD, meant?

From the example of providing the Ram, he understood GOD WOULD PROVIDE A MESSIAH FOR THE ONCE FOR ALL TIME SACRIFICE.

THERFORE, the same destiny for true believers in N.T. Times, is the SAME as the Destiny of O.T. TIMES, HE SAID HE DOES NOT CHANGE.

2 Corinthians 5:8 (NKJV)
8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

What's more, JESUS never did use the would CHURCH in his entire life, and Neither did the Apostles.
Translators inserted that WORD, "CHURCH" into our BIBLES.

Matthew 16:18 (YLT)
18 `And I also say to thee, that thou art a rock, and upon this rock I will build my assembly,
and gates of Hades shall not prevail against it;

NOTICE: JESUS did not say the
BAD HALF OF HADES WILL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT.

1569350342501.jpeg
HE KNEW THERE WAS ONLY ONE SET OF GATES.
and HE DID NOT CALL US THE CHURCH, HE CALLED US MY
ASSEMBLY.

John 10:14-16 (ESV)
14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,
15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. [.At the Rapture.] [.And WE are the other sheep.]

Who is HE talking to ? ? ? Obviously the Last of the O.T. Assembly (O.T. Saints), because the Birthday of the N.T. Assembly (Church) is not until Pentecost after HIS Ascension. There is a time in the Future when the O.T. Saints and the N.T. Saints, will be ONE ASSEMBLY or FLOCK, at the Rapture. Move over Christians, the Dead in Christ includes the O.T. Saints.

WE ALL HAVE THE SAME FAITH ABOUT THE MESSIAH, THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM, AND THE EXACT SAME DESTINY.

Luke 16:23 (HCSB)
23 And being in torment in Hades, he looked up and saw Abraham a long way off, with Lazarus at his side.

Apparently human spirits in HADES, can see Believers IN HEAVEN, and it is part of their torment.

Here is my english to spanish translation:

Car = casa
Apartment = casa
Office = casa
Chair = casa

Eazy. Gets rid of the confusion!

What does this mean?
Im saying that God can translate his word any way he wants. The point of hades, Sheol and all those other words don’t mean anything to us. I’m sure it did mean something to them 2000 years ago because it was a part of their language.

To us today, all those words do is breed confusion. I mean people today create whole beliefs systems because they don’t know what those words mean.

how can "you" know someone has good works? And is not just religious?

You can't so what good is it? God does not need it, You can't use it to determine someone elses salvation, so other than you examining you own faith, what good is it?
hi, for the believer good works or any one facet of being a Christian it is what is known of their life. On here you pretty can only judge by want is type. You don't know if they deny Christ, work against his people etc. etc. anyone can pass themselves off as one of his we have too many examples of leaders in the church fooling people for years. But it is a starting point that only other things reveal who you are dealing with. When anti-Christ comes he will be such a perfect counterfeit of the Christ he could almost fool the elect.

What I really want to ask though is romans 8: 1 how can there be no condemnation? thanks

1Pe 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
1Pe 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
1Pe 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Jesus went to hell/hades and PREACHED to the SPIRITS in hell. These were those who died during the time of Noah. I would assume that they were with Abraham and Lazarus since they weren't condemned for this sins until Christ came and preached the gospel to them and they made their decisions.

I agree there was a great gulf between them.

The Rich Man in HADES LOOKED UP and saw ABRAHAM a LONG WAYS OFF. That would be HEAVEN.

Read my recent posts.

I said that hades does not mean grave in Acts 2:31

Jesus body went to the grave for three days, but the rest of Him went to a place called Hades for three days

If you translate hades to mean “grave” in Acts 2:31, that would be soul sleep, which I know is not your intention

You’re kind of contradicting yourself when you say Jesus went to hell and Ask if Hades in Acts 2:31 could be referring to the grave

It’s simple.

Jesus died for us

His body was laid in a tomb

His soul went to Hades

He did not go to Gehenna

No one is in Gehenna yet

All lost souls go to Hades/Sheol when they die

Believers go to be where Jesus is, in heaven when they die, but their bodies remain in the grave until resurrection

I did not know God was in the translation business?:D

Perhaps they, the translators, did not know what was the correct translation and so they just used one word. However I guess this is a tangent, but the whole thread is going sideways I guess.

I have no in depth knowledge on this so I will pass on further discussion.

No I don’t believe in soul sleep.

Just talking this out, something to think about. Genesis 3:7 "And the eyes of Adam and Eve were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons." Adam and Even knew to cover themselves. They did so with fig leaves. What are today's fig leaves? - Church going, religious exercises, ordinances, rules, philanthropy, altruism, personal efforts, etc. NOT TO SAY these are bad. They are good, and they are worthwhile....James 2:18 "Show me you faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works." Then you see in Genesis 3:21 "Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. Was that not saying...man cannot cover his sin, only by the shedding of innocent blood can man's sin be covered. Similar reference to blood in Leviticus 3. Being saved is due to the act of Jesus Christ coming in the flesh to show us man perfected, then his own innocent blood was shed (after torture, slander, and crucifixion) for our redemption. After being saved, one will be judged in heaven (Rev 20:12). I believe that is when one's works will come to the forefront. Works are not necessary for salvation, and cannot earn redemption. But doing God's will will come to bear at some point.

Hades is not HELL.

One is a place of torment for the unrighteous.

The other is a place of torment for the resurrected body of the Unrighteous.

Hades gets tossed into the LAKE OF FIRE, which is HELL.

Revelation 20:14-15 (ESV)
14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
