How can they stand the anxiety?
Or, how can the lack of anxiety be possible?
The bible is clear....HOPE <--> A confident expectation of something GUARANTEED <---A losable salvation or one based upon works does not meet this standard
How can they stand the anxiety?
Or, how can the lack of anxiety be possible?
Only God knows a persons fate. We have but a hope, a hope based on the promises of Jesus Christ. How can they stand the anxiety?
Or, how can the lack of anxiety be possible?
Only God knows a persons fate. We have but a hope, a hope based on the promises of Jesus Christ.
We were saved in hope. If we see what we hope for, that isn’t hope. Who hopes for what they already see? Romans 8:24
I do not see my salvation, I humbly hope for my salvation.
OSAS believers disregard this hope and replace it with a surmised notion that salvation is predestined personally for them.
I do not live in anxiety but I am ever careful to keep my lamp full and an eye for my masters return.
Amen! Unlike the english word "hope," the N.T. word contains no uncertainty; it speaks of something that is certain. Strong's #1680 elpís (from elpō, "to anticipate, welcome") – properly, expectation of what is sure (certain); hope. If we have saving faith in Christ then we have this hope. Faith is the substance of things HOPED for.. (Hebrews 11:1). So that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according HOPE of eternal life (Titus 3:7). Works-salvationists, who trust in their performance for salvation do not have this certain hope. The bible is clear....HOPE <--> A confident expectation of something GUARANTEED <---A losable salvation or one based upon works does not meet this standard
Yes the Bible is clear. The bible is clear....HOPE <--> A confident expectation of something GUARANTEED <---A losable salvation or one based upon works does not meet this standard
You are quite correct. Salvation is predestined to those who wait for and obey the Lord. We should all have a hope of being in that predestined group. Thanks for the Greek. The term means what it says and is very clearly described.....

προορίζω: 1 aorist προορισα; 1 aorist passive participle προορισθεντες; to predetermine, decide beforehand, Vulg. (except in Acts)praedestino (R. V. to foreordain): in the N. T. of God decreeing from eternity, followed by an accusative with the infinitive Acts 4:28; τί, with the addition of πρό τῶν αἰώνων 1 Corinthians 2:7; τινα, with a predicate acc, to foreordain, appoint beforehand, Romans 8:29f; τινα εἰς τί, one to obtain a thing. Ephesians 1:5; προορισθεντες namely, κληρωθῆναι, Ephesians 1:11. (Heliodorus and ecclesiastical writings. (Ignatius ad Eph. tit.))
Someone who is unsaved cannot lose their salvation.Simply unsaved. Wrong soil, tares etc.
If it is impossible to turn from God, we would not be warned against it. Jesus said:-Losing Salvation so called is quite impossible by the Words of Christ Himself.
John 6:40 - For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. A confident expectation in one’s own performance (salvation by works) is not certain hope but false assurance.Yes the Bible is clear.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ Matthew 7:21-23
These verses do not direct us to believe in the Father but to do the will of the Father in order to enter the kingdom of heaven.
A confident expectation in a misunderstood guarantee is not hope but simply false assurance.
Warnings against being led astray.Well, this fits the description of the dogs and the sows and not a good description for the believers.
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Philippians 3:1-3 King James Version (KJV)
3 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
No one is debating that Christians are guaranteed salvation. The issue is does a sincere moment of faith guarantee that a person will be accepted as a Christian on the day of judgement?Amen!
Your verses ring true but they are clearly written more general then Matthew 7:21-23. Surely you can see this?John 6:40 - For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. A confident expectation in one’s own performance (salvation by works) is not certain hope but false assurance.
Ephesians 1:13 - Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.![]()
Works-salvationists, who trust in their performance for salvation do not have this certain hope.
That won't worry OSAS people though will it. They are Always Saved.OSAS DOES NOT BELIEVE THAT EITHER. You are Embarrassing yourself with HOW LITTLE YOU Really KNOW about OUR BELIEFS, and how much false GARBAGE you have swallowed thinking it is true when it is PURE FALSE HOG WASH.
You will have to answer to GOD for these THINGS HE HATES:
Proverbs 6:16-19 (ESV)
16 There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him:
17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil,
19 a false witness who breathes out lies,
and one who sows discord among brothers.
Its called watering down the law in a way they think they are ok, and judging others. Which makes yourself feel better ( i am not as bad as that guy!)How can they stand the anxiety?
Or, how can the lack of anxiety be possible?
