Spot on, seeing His mercy as license to sin = no chastening from God and no new heart...
A Father who doesn't throw his son in a lake of fire for stealing a cookie isn't giving His child a license to steal.
He will chasten and reprove His children. Maybe even much harsher discipline to the "hard headed".
hebrews 12
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
He chastens us when as His children when we are His but He does not forsake His own.
He is faithful and keeps His promises.
(
@Leastamongmany which clearly shows the "sin and lose salvation" is wrong... He doesn't chasten for righteousness and anything less is sin or "missing the mark")
