Oh boy, oh boy........the antichrist did come the evils of the Roman leadership are well documented and what Jerusalem suffered under them when their entire temple this is the key ....huge stones were utterly destroyed and few survived.

It is not about some future AC who destroys the world...it was about the Jewish people at the time of Christ.
Matthew 24 is so plainly obvious and Jesus makes it so clear what they will go through!
No he did not Grace.........the AC is a world ruler......it is SATAN in FLESH and a culmination of world history.....you are wrong

I am about to open a thread on the 4 beasts of Daniel, the gentile kingdoms. Which explain in detail all which is spoken about them in Scripture in dan 2, 7 and the revelations passages which PROOVE that the final kingdom has not yet been seen.
AMEN....they won't listen........we can list facts all day and they will reject it.....as evidenced by this thread........

There was indeed AN antichrist, or antichrist spirit, at that time, BUT not THE Anti-christ:

1 John 2:18 New King James Version (NKJV)
Deceptions of the Last Hour
18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

Not knowing the hour or day (which may be one reason WE aren't told) , Satan has had AN antichrist or his guy, ALWAYS ready waiting in the wings. All through history these antichrists show up. Adoplh Hitler was a perfect example of satan's guy ready to be THE Antichrist if necessary. You can throw in Nero, Hadrian, and a bunch of other Caesars if you like.

But NONE of those are THE Antichrist. He has dozens of attributes, titles, and prophecies about him. Scripture even alludes to the possibility of him being a homosexual. He is also likely a Syrian to name a few.
A real eye opener....a grammatically correct translation of the words applied in 2nd Thessalonians 2 <--ONLY HE that now letteth will let until HE be taken out of the way

The KING JIMMY butchers the language........so many apply this to the Holy Spirit and I personally believe, in light of a correct grammatical translation of letteh, let, and taken, tells a different story

In the greek, It literally says the one who restrains, Until the one who exists is taken out of the way.

No matter how you look at it

Who has the power to restrain satan (the lawless one)

Just saying

You are wrong, The roman empire ruled only parts of the world. The final form will rule every tribe nation and tongue, neither Vespian nor titus held that power.

Start in Dan 2 and look at the rest.

It is in the OT that we first discover that the AC is a Jew. It is then confirmed in the NT. The Orthodox Jews are looking forward to their "true" Messiah.
No it is not

unless he is a roman JEW

And off course their looking for their messiah, They have been for thousands of years. But it does nto mean it is the last roman leader who rules the world.

I just looked it up in the greek and looked at every possible source.

The first he is “ho” which means the, he she it etc (who restains)

The second “he is taken” is ginomai - which means to become, to be, to take place, to become, to be born, to happen. (Is taken - out of the way)

Ginomai ek mesos

“To be taken”. “Out of”. “The middle”

There is not other interpretation possible that I can find.

Letteth-->Hold down, possess, retain, take

Taken-->Cause to be, to become, come into being, be assembled, brought to pass, arise

Only he that holds down or retains will continue to hold down or retain until he comes into being or arises

Coming -->advent, by implication physical coming or presence
working ---> Energy, operation, empowering, enabling

Whoever will be the BEAST....his physical coming or advent is by the energy, enabling and empowering by SATAN himself

AND SATAN is the one that holds that power and he will continue to HOLD that power or possess that POWER until the ONE that is going to be the BEAST arises or comes into being.

That is my view based upon the verbiage and it makes sense.....the text in no way, shape or form indicates that it is the Holy Spirit restraining......

Can you show me where the jews see him as their messiah?

And again, I refer you to Dan 9. He is the prince who is to come, Out of the roman empire. I mean, A jew whoL rules rome (europe) I can’t see that happening.

As for john 5: 43. He spoke of many, who they have received.. All through history.
In 2 Thess.2:4 he exalts himself above every God that is worshiped so not just the awaited Jewish Messiah but instead he convinces the earth that he is the one (they are waiting for). So I take that as him being seen as the Messiah the Jews await, the Mahdi the Muslims await, and even if possible Christians also seeing him as Jesus in his return.

In Daniel 11:37(seems Paul is quoting Daniel 11 in 2 Thess.2) the term is used "his fathers knew not" which seems to be the God of Abraham,Isaac and Jacob. In Daniel 11:28 he returns to his land and his heart is against the Holy Covenant and then he returns to his own land, which land is his own land?

You forgot the ending

To be taken out (lit) from the middle (in between)

He must be removed (the restrainer)

Once he is removed, the lawless one (the son of perdition) will come into power

This is the first time in all my life I have heard this thinking, I will have to give it more study

It still makes no sense UNlESS this jew is also the leader of the final gentile beast “the little horn” which we know to be Rome.

They would have to be one and the same for this to be true

I did not forget anything the word taken means....Taken-->Cause to be, to become, come into being, be assembled, brought to pass, arise there is nothing in the text that indicates out of the way.....that is the King Jimmy embellishment

The context is his advent....not what is restraining.....what i have learned is that Satan has attempted this numerous times and due to failure of said attempts he will hold that power until the one that will be arise and or comes on the scene.....

Anyway....my view......time will tell hey HAHA

I have said this numerous times........two phrases stand out and to me indicate he comes fro Ishmael's line and is not Jewish, but tied to Abraham

A god his fathers knew not
No respect unto the GOD of his Fathers

Who can fit this bill and be tied unto Abraham.........one from the line of Ishmael

A god his fathers knew not <---Abraham and Ishmael did not know Allah <--who the decendents of Ishmael worship and push this day
No respect unto the GOD of his Fathers <---Abraham and Ishmael knew the one true GOD and GOD even blessed Ishmael

The church is the body of Christ, with the Holy Spirit working through it. That is one way I have heard it interpreted...
