Gay wedding

Hey! I attended Melodyland for a few years!

Oh my other favorite from the day was Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa.

1980-1984 for me.

I would agree very much with not allowing drunks, homos, adulterers, astrologists and liars not to be allowed church memberships unless they repentant. But I worked in an all night wedding chapel for seven years and have witnessed 1,000's of weddings between total strangers. Signing as witness did not mean I approved of the wedding. It meant, I saw it and it happened then and there. It was a legal document.

I don't know where most of them came from, what there religion was for the most part or what they did after they left. I was offered to join them on the honeymoon several times, which I politely declined. I never became one of them.

I did not and do not feel I was an enabler, they could have gotten some bum off of the street. At least I wore a Tuxedo!

The world today is certainly no gayer than it the Greco/Roman societies in which the Lord and the disciples walked and taught. What do you think went on in their bath houses? Please quit equating going to a wedding reception the same as going to a roman bath house. It is not!

Question, why did you work at an all night wedding chapel. Just wondering. Was it cos you loved weddings or you needed the money. Or both.
What did you do?

People that officate at gay wedding or organise it, say they celebrating love, but I can see its also about money and having a double income. When you marry isnt it you share joint accounts? A lot of marriages are for convenience that goes for both straight and gay marriages. Or for residency.

Another thing I want to say, some posters have said Jesus didnt say anything about homosexuals. Yet it was Judas who kissed Jesus when he betrayed him. I reckon Judas had issues with Jesus and was jealous of Jesus relationship with Mary Magdalene.

Jesus has been known to hang out with drunks and drug addicts too. If you want to cure the sick then you must go where the sick people are. Your spiritual percepts are inspiring as well as refreshing. I thank God that there are people like you in the world.

I, too, thank God for people like you, Ricky, and Bob, for you walk humbly with your God as God Himself has stated we ought. Jesus is drawing people to Him through love, yet there are many here who seem to think it is their job to hatefully shame and condemn those outside the church, when Scripture plainly states otherwise. I wonder if they realize how well they would fit in with the Westboro Baptist sect, and if they do, how much pride they would take in that as they scream their hate-filled rhetoric.

Thank you, Susanna I doubt they will reach many, if any, that way. God, through the Holy Spirit, will convict the sinner in His Own time, for His Own purposes. If sinners are not seeking truth, they are not interested in being preached at or beaten over the head with a Bible, and yet they do respond to love, for it is what (most) everyone desires

I sort of fell into it. I was at a bible study and mentioned I was looking for a job and one of the more mature ladies told me she thought I'd fit in just fine, she knew the owner and 2 of her daughters worked there.
I preferred working nights due to the heat of the day. I love work with the public in a busy place so after a short interview they took a liking to me and they needed a big man on job for the sake of the mainly female staffs safety at night in wild Las Vegas. I started as a wedding coordinator. Then I taught myself photography and quickly became the ad hoc night manager. We didn't do gay weddings but the place 2 door up the strip did.
I enjoyed it for the most part. made good money commission + tips and worked my favorite hours. 11pm -7am. I met celebrities more than a few times. I just got burned out on alcohol, gambling and all I could eat buffets everyday. In short, I ran for my life.

Those terms came directly from my Diagnostic and statistical manual and if you haven't figured it out by now I'm a recovery advocate that firmly believes the best way to treat these and similar problems is through a 12 step program with Jesus as the one and only higher power. Have you not heard of Celebrate Recovery? It's like a Christian version of AA.

The 12 step model is solidly based on Scriptural principles straight from the Bible. I know you know this This message is aimed more at those who are ignorant of what it is and how it works. It began with an evangelical Christian group, and Dr. Bob and Bill W. borrowed and adapted the Oxford group's model to help themselves help others recover from what until that time had been a seemingly hopeless and incurable state of mind and body. The 12 steps, as developed by them and others in the early years (back in the thirties), are designed to assist people develop and maintain a personal relationship with God. The steps have been slightly modified to address literally hundreds and hundreds of problems that individuals recognize themselves as having. Millions have been helped to turn their lives around. The program embraces the fact that you cannot force people to change. In the face of that knowledge, and through our own experience, we recognize that to operate by a principle of attraction works best

My first wedding was a private ceremony in her house before a fire place, the second was in a Nazarene church and my last was a private ceremony in our room at the Hilton. The first was officiated by a Presbyterian minister, the second by a Nazarene minister and my last by a SDA minister. There will not be a fourth wedding. I'm all set in that regard. I have been to quite a few weddings, about 1/2 in a church setting and the others in a private setting. It's all the same to me. You are either married in the eyes of God or you're not.

What I meant by church wedding was that it was officiated by some type of clergy , that is all. I have never been to a wedding were it was a purely a civil ceremony.
Like I already stated standing in front of a pastor does not marry anyone nor does a piece of paper ....scripture is clear where God sees the beginning of marriage.

Funny story about that wedding. Her younger brother was tasked to play a recording of the Carpenter's "We've only just begun" once the pronouncement was said that we were now married but somehow things got screwed up and he played "We can't go on hurting each other" instead as we walked down the hallway ending the ceremony. It was obviously an omen of bad things to come.

You read too much into a man kissing another man. It is not common in our Western culture with maybe the exception of the French. I was once even among Christians where they would kiss a brother on the lips. I tolerated it, but was never comfortable with it.

These younger generations seem to be paranoid about many things associated with homosexuality. I have even slept in the same bed with a couple of other males when that was what was available. We didn't see anything sexual about it. I blame this paranoia on the coming out of gays and transgenders. Now, they openly proclaim their perversion.

Getting back to judging them, I don't do that. I have had gay friends and I treated them well enough as long as they didn't try to recruit me. That said, we must as Christians stand against any legalizing any special human rights status for them. For then it becomes illegal to condemn their ways as sinful.

While they are out of the closet and visible they are recruiting even if just by inference. By that, I mean if they can get a child to question their sexual orientation many will choose something other than normal. That is part of New Age psychology: saying we are born with our sexuality intact instead of it being learned. Some children will do some of this just to stir up mischief as foolishness is in their hearts.

Pro. 22:15 "Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him."

Pro. 29:15 "The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame."

What a lot of assumptions you make. Perhaps you see yourself included yourself in the "many" I mentioned. That is your mirror, not mine. Sadly, I have witnessed what is on full display in this thread, and am well aware of the level of disagreement with what God's Word says about not judging those outside the church, about how we are to love kindness, be merciful, and walk humbly. I have responded to some of it, which you very well know. Why pretend otherwise now? Nor do logical fallacies convince me. You also hold to a theological position which the majority disagrees with. Is that going to make you change your beliefs?

The thing about Judas is that he was the only apostle that Jesus specifically said 'friend' to, asking why he had come, and that was at the moment of betrayal I have had issues with Jesus in the past too. I believe that Judas was extremely disappointed that Jesus was not going to set up His earthly kingdom at that current time. Yeah, he was a thief too but it was never about the money.

My wife and I enjoyed the all you can eat buffet at Circus Circus which is across the street from the Hilton where we stayed.

NO not at all.
We Pentecostals just preach the gospel to anybody who will listen and lead them to Christ and the truth.
When they get baptized in the Holy Spirit and can pray in tongues then God cleanses them and sets them free and makes

Well there are 2 types of weddings 1 for biblical reasons the other for merely social and or lagal reasons. All of our ministers were ordained by some sanctioning board or were ordained but the customer got to choose what kind of wedding they wanted. The minister or whatever they called them selves came from various faiths. AG, Baptist, we had a defrocked RCC priest who was married to a female rabbi. Bahai faith and an Astrologer. They all worked part time for 50% of the ministers offering which was taken separately. We even had an Elvis impersonator that would ask them to take the vows before a real minister of after the "I do's" of some faith would say" By the power vested in me by the State of Nevada, I now pronounce you man and wife." I was a very big business.

The city had a Justice of the peace and the county judges performed civil ceremonies too. The top 4 businesses in Nevada are gaming, hospitality (hotels& restaurants) liquor and weddings. It all fits under the travel and tourism umbrella.

"Welcome to Nevada. Arrive on vacation, leave on probation." Lol. I quit, too much drama!
