Take two seconds to actually comprehend what the context of what we are talking about Macaroni..........I will say it again....SIN is not the issue....FAITH IS.......use your brain!
The context is that a person WHO HAS BEEN SAVED is no longer to walk in the old man, is no longer a slave to sin, and is now a new creature and is a slave to CHRIST ALONE.

You can promote "perseverance" all you want, but salvation is a finished work based on the fact that all sin was dealt with at the cross, past, present and future.

His work on my behalf, not my perseverance is completely sufficient to save
And who said otherwise? Did you not READ what perserverance actually teaches?

That is the silliest strawman I ever heard.

There are those who think that they are saved and are not (false converts) and there are those who know that they are saved and truly are (true converts). And being a true convert does not make you more saved, it makes you saved.

You are really clutching straws and making strawmen
Sure, sure

Saved is saved...... one cannot be more saved than saved LOL

If you think I care about popularity, you got the wrong man. The truth is NEVER popular, not even among professed Christians

Now why would I go and do that? I prefer to focus on Christ Jesus rather than my perseverance :)

Jesus tells me that I can rest in Him, my striving has ceased :)

No but one can be GENUINELY and TRULY saved as opposed to being a false convert.

You are really desperate if you have to use "no such thing as genuine conversion in the Bible.

Can we get serious now?

A person who claims to be a christian should check themselves so that they are not deceiving themselves , for my spirit knows this what the bible tells me in Romans 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
Do you mean they should check themselves to see if they are truly a Christian, as opposed to a false convert? A wheat as opposed to a tare? Sorry, Undergrace does not believe in genuine Christians who are truly Christians, just Christians who are Christians, so I guess that only leaves false converts, since genuine converts are not in the Bible:ROFL:

Since this thread is about "not of works", why don't you all move it over to the "does OSAS teach a Christian can sin as much as they want", and interact with people that actually have the issue of "the security of the believer" right.

There's another thread open about the issue we're talking about. I suggested we move over there, since this conversation is more appropriate for that thread. Plus it might get you guys out of your five person amen corner,(which to a large degree is what this is)to interact with other Christians and who don't come here because of your divisiveness, strawmen, and red herrings here, and learn from them instead of stagnating here.

I am serious are you?

Maybe we should have genuinely, absolutely, irrefutably completely converted just to be sure

I actually like it here, I have learned a lot here, I enjoy having my thinking stretched/challenged and also affirmed

Do you know the definition of genuine?

Definition- Truly what something is said to be. Authentic

According to your argument, there are no authentic Christians. Richard Dawkins would absolutely LOVE that argument
