NIV1984 Isaiah 5:20-21
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.

Where did undergrace call evil good or good evil?

If God ask, "why should I let you in?"

Probably my realistic response: I know I'm not worthy to be let in. Please don't cast me out ... let me cling to Jesus, let me cling to the Lord
This is an interesting question. Why should I let you in?

The answer is I am your child, bought with the precious blood of Christ, washed clean, redeemed
and made Holy through the cross, forgiven of my sins, walking in your ways empowered by the Holy
Spirit, singing praises to your name from my heart, dear Father I humbly bow and worship you.
It is you who call and you who choose, Amen, let your will be done, for I am unworthy to be counted
among your people, yet you embrace me and call me your child, thank you Father, Amen.

And the Lords actual response will be,

21 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things;
I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
Matthew 25

We should be more confident instead of fear and trembling is what you say, right?

Only Jesus is worthy.... we are let in because of His work.:)

Amazing Grace how Sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now I'm found
It is a wonder to know a slave ships captain coming to know the Lord.
How deep the sense of shame and regret, how cruel and barbaric were
the ways of trading in people. Even the apostles band believers from being
slave traders.

9 We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,
10 for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers--and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine
1 tim 1

Such love, such grace, that embraces the repentant heart of a sinner and calls them home,
Amen, thank you Jesus that your love overflows without restraint to pick us up, to teach us
to humble us, and show us your ways in victory and overcoming evil so we are truly people
of God, the Kingdom of heaven come to earth, Amen.

We should be more confident instead of fear and trembling is what you say, right?
In love we know our Father, and as our hearts warm to His word and His ways, we know
we live in Him. When I stand in praise, when I lift up His name, when I bow in tears
at the price He paid to show me I am His, into eternity, I break in wonder, love and adoration.
A child knows their Father, knows His will and His ways, and their conscience sings in the
Spirit with words of the angels from on High. We know our Lord, we know His intent, we know
the next step, and each day we walk another step closer to that day when we meet face to
face. Amen.

There is always fear and trembling, because He is the Lord, dangerous, the creator
before whom nothing is hidden, anywhere, He knows all. And I stand amazed that He desire to
call us His people, to bless and anoint us with the oil of gladness, the hope and faith of heaven.
And He has given me so much, and taught me to not fear but to just share and know His power,
Thank you Jesus, amen.

I see no difference in meaning or intent of the statement....you can elaborate if you wish.

"changing" .........with or without that specific word does not negate that grace was connected in your statement to license for immorality.
Since it is clear that I did not state that "GRACE IS A LICENSE FOR IMMORALITY" therefore it is not my words but your own.

NIV1984 Matthew 12:33-37
“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

NIV1984 1 Timothy 6:3-5
If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

So do you condemn yourself too or is this just for everyone else....just curious?

"Budman, post: 3915841, member: 190749"]"For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not." (Romans 7:18)
Romans 8:9- But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Jesus: "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.” (John 8:34)
John 6:36- If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

"Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him." (1 John 3:6)
No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (NAS)

Anyone having been born of God does not practice sin, because His seed abides in him, and he is not able to continue sinning, because he has been born of God. (BLB)

No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (NAS 1977)

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." (Romans 8:7)
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Romans 8:6)

"I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man (New Nature): But I see another law in my members, (Old Nature) warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members" (Romans 7:21-22)
Romans 8:2- For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Are we New Creatures? Yes. Are we to walk in the newness of that life? Yes. Are we to live a life pleasing to the Lord? Yes. But because we still have the "Old Man" we will continue to sin until the die we die and there is no stopping it.

But we are not slaves to sin...The Bible says we are not, and that SETTLES it.

Romans 6:2- God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 6:7- For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Romans 6:11-Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The flesh is CRUCIFIED in the believer...And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Galatians 5:24

THE OLD MAN IS DEAD....Romans 6:6- Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

The old man has no power except what we give him. The old man is dead, that is deprived of power. When we sin, we are acting against the reality of who we are, FREE FROM SIN, DEAD TO SIN, because we do not reckon these things to be so.

WE are not slaves to sin. We have ONE OWNER. The one who bought us with His Blood [/QUOTE]

Keep on praying for all the Lord's people (Eph 6:18)
The saddest thing for me is to see some dedicated to putting caviates into faith,
to not taking life as life and death as death, but believing you can mix the two and
still end up with life.

The idea is to make Jesus so great, He just saves us, and we do nothing but accept,
and we are so powerless against sin, we can but point to Jesus who saves us.

And then comes condemnation on those who see Jesus's promise through the Holy Spirit
to change us, to make us into the literally Holy people of God, the Kingdom of heaven
on earth. These words are so precious and fantastic, that from sinners He makes saints,
anointed, mature and walking strong in His Kingdom. Amen.

This is the power of the cross, the power of love and salvation, the resurrection of the dead,
the turning of darkness into light, death into life, emptiness and hurt, into fullness and joy.
A peace that passes understanding, a life made whole, a love without end.

*Sigh* :)
I miss the good old days
Too bad people spout false doctrine like saying Christians are slaves to sin when the Bible clearly says we are not.

Romans 6:22- But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

(you cannot be free from sin and a slave to sin at the same time, unless you hold to Gnostic dualism of "part of me free, and part of me slave")
