Salvation is by the blood of the Lamb. Believing on Him. Remember the thief? And of course the sealing is with conversion.

The baptism is the power of Holy Spirit rising up from within, or coming upon, or even both, depending on how He is moving through us.

Paul preached with signs following. This should be the pattern for all churches. If this makes one angry, can't help it.

exactly

Jesus told his followers to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit

He said power would come upon them through the Holy Spirit (Acts 1) to be witnesses for Him. this means that the Holy Spirit will convict and convince unbelievers through the gospel when Jesus is lifted up. the very words are anointed and come from a source other than our flesh. but you cannot convince anyone of this. the truth is illustrated when Peter stood up and over 3000 committed their lives to Christ that very day. (Acts 2)

those waiting in Jerusalem were already 'saved'. they already believed in Christ. Peter had been forgiven of his denial

they did not suddenly wake up and be saved. they were waiting for something else entirely

and you are so right that it creates anger in some

the flesh and the devil just rise up. how dare anyone think there is Someone able to defeat him in all his vanity and lies

we know, that through the power of the blood of Christ the devil is defeated. however, experiential salvation is lost to so many

they are saved, but they act like they are not. they are defeated and cannot live victoriously for Christ and certainly do NOT have the power to testify of Him let alone do we see ANY signs following

but we do have the sign of anger exhibiting from time to time in some who believe they are a teacher of the word...like MacArthur who rails against tongues and teaches they are all demonic

may God save us from such as him and open the hearts of those who desire the truth

may God open stopped ears and blind eyes to His Spirit who is the life Jesus promised dwelling in us

The problem is, when we stray from the Word, and insert anything we feel like under the banner of "well Jesus said He did other stuff, therefore what I THINK He may have done is acceptable for me to do". This is a form of idolatry, or everyone doing what is right in his own eyes.

I am familiar with Mr. Wigglesworth. (VERY cool name I must admit!)

Did you know he would literally try and beat the HELL out of someone? That is how he thought a demon possessed person would be free. Can you show me where Jesus or His Apostles used such a method on people? That is catholic church medieval stuff!

Also, some Churches have taken this nonsense so far as teach "Grave soaking", whereby people today lie on the graves of past prominent Christians like Mr. Wigglesworth to "soak up" a special anointing from them.
This post just shows me how desperate we are for the Holy Spirit.

We were created to connect with our Heavenly Father - to be in a relationship with God. Our “spirituality” cries out for God....

It’s very sad the way people seek spiritual things..... Yeshua/Jesus gave us an open door! Just go through the Door (Yeshua/Jesus)!

Everything of God in abundance is waiting........ of course, the flesh cannot enter.

Only with ALL your heart, soul, mind, body - EVERYTHING - holding NOTHING back - God gave us ALL that He Is, Was, And Will Be on the altar - the Cross.

We must do the same. Look, we die any way. What are we holding on to?

LET GO!! Embrace your King, Savior, Friend, Redeemer and Lover of your soul! Let Him baptize you with the Holy Spirit and Fire.....(y)

No one on Earth loves you more than He!!!(y)

Lord, baptize us with Your Holy Spirit and Fire! Empower us to be Your Light and witness upon the Earth! Yeshua/Jesus is LORD and there is no other!(y)

Well 1st off why wouldn't he have a 100% accuracy? I am not baptist, not sure why you think I am, although certainly I believe in some of their tenets. This from Costi Hinn. He is the nephew of Benny Hinn, one of the WORST of the bunch. Costi worked and accompanied his Uncle for yrs before he couldn't take the incalcuable damage his Uncle did to so many any longer.

Smith Wigglesworth (1859–1947)
Wigglesworth was one of the first to take faith healing to violent new heights. He is considered Pentecostal and Charismatic royalty these days, but that’s mostly because people are ignorant of his aberrant and unbiblical ministry tactics. For nearly two decades of my own life, Wigglesworth was one of my heroes because he represented audacious faith without any regard for the confines of religiosity and tradition. He was a reckless rebel and, just like Peter, was willing to jump over the side of the boat to walk on water and follow Jesus. That’s the kind of risk-taking that God always blesses, I often thought. That’s who I wanted to be!

Born before both Charles Parham and William Seymour, Wigglesworth outlived them both. Due to his long life span, he was perfectly positioned to almost single handedly impact the UK in the same way Parham and Seymour impacted America.

Wigglesworth focused the core of his ministry on signs and wonders like healing, miracles, and tongues. He taught that believers should refuse medical treatment for any illness. If not the first, he was one of the first in history to conduct his faith healing using methods other than laying on of hands—though he still touched them. According to Wigglesworth, sickness was demonic activity so he would physically attack the person as though they were the devil! Ignoring biblical teaching that spiritual warfare has nothing to do with flesh and blood (Eph. 6:12), Wigglesworth would punch, slap, or hit people in the place where they were afflicted. Wigglesworth explains his reason for assaulting sick people:

There are some times when you pray for the sick and you are apparently rough. But you are not dealing with a person, you are dealing with the satanic forces that are binding that person. Your heart is full of love and compassion to all, but you are moved to a holy anger as you see the place the devil has taken position in the body of the sick one, and you deal with his position with a real forcefulness.[3]
If people didn’t get healed, he was sure to place the blame on the sick. Wigglesworth taught that everyone should be able to control their own healing. He blamed those who couldn’t rid themselves of sickness on their own sin and lack of faith. He declared, “Is healing for all? It is for all who press right in and get their portions.”[4] To one sick woman he barked, “If you’ll get rid of your self-righteousness, God will do something for you. Drop the idea that you are so holy that God has got to afflict you. Sin is the cause of your sickness.”[5] He also states, “There is a close relationship between sin and sickness . . . but if you will obey God and repent of your sin and quit it, God will meet you, and neither your sickness nor your sin will remain.”[6] With no regard for biblical teaching on praying and trusting God’s will, God’s purposes through physical trials, and sanctification from unhealed sickness (Gal. 4:13-14; James 1:2-3), Wigglesworth confused and spiritually abused those who were sick and desperate by telling them they were the problem and he was the solution. He was especially aggressive toward anyone who approached him for prayer more than once. One poor man experienced public humiliation when Wigglesworth came to the altar and asked the faith healer to pray for him a second time because he wasn’t yet healed. Wigglesworth yelled, “Didn’t I pray for you last night? You are full of unbelief, get off this platform.”[7] His method of placing the blame on innocent people for his own failed healing attempts, and his violent antics for trying to heal people, are still practiced today by many false teachers. Later on in the book, we’ll get an up close look a modern day preacher who, like Wigglesworth, assaults people when praying for their healing.

People merely searching for hope were devastated when men like Wigglesworth humiliated them with his shameful practices. Still, countless modern day Pentecostal and Charismatic preachers ignore the hard facts of history and consider Wigglesworth a hero of the faith. Regardless of modern sentiment, Wigglesworth was a charlatan who exploited the sick by teaching falsely about salvation, sin, and sickness. His legacy does not represent true Christianity nor the character of biblical leadership.

Those who wish to faithfully represent Christ must arm themselves with truth. The dark history of abusive false teachers is not where Christians should ever find their truth, or claim their heritage. Look to God’s word for timeless guidance – it will never disappoint.

What a horrible thing to say! That our Lord, God in the flesh, EVER failed!

NONE of the supposed healings or raising people from the dead, from Wigglesworth or any other charasmatics were EVER verified. He INJURED or made worse people.

You look almost exactly like my buddy that is a missionary to germany.
Many have been baptised in the Holy Spirit and we are so close in the spirit.

It is so strange to see a man that looks like him and trashing Gods ministry tirelessly.

You dont have a clue what you are talking about.

You post false information.
Costi is a spoiled brat that worked with Hinn.
He hates his uncle.
Of course his uncle has dirt like all of us.

Had you lived during king Davids life you most likely would contribute in some philistine forum on how king David was the biggest sleaze ball fake that ever was. Maybe they had rumors that his exploits were lies and he never killed a lion or a bear or goliath.

After all his sin was gigantic. He had to be a fake right????

You should repent for that smear job on wigglesworth.
You go to a hater of charismatics to get dirt on them.
Sad you stoop so low friend.

Bottom line is. Wighlesworth is one of the few solid, solid men of God they can't find much of anything for their demon driven hate attacks.
It is a spirit that is attacking.
Mainly baptists are behind it.
You almost never see non baptists attacking so relentlessly.

Hatred of their brother. Nothing new.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Wigglesworth wasn't operating under the Holy Spirit. Show me in Scripture where someone heals anybody through physically assaulting them. Including Jesus.

Oh that's right. YOU think Jesus failed sometimes.

NOT ONE of Hinn's miracles has EVER been verified. He is EXACTLY the type of false prophet that Scripture warns us of.

If you wish to remain deceived and beguiled by some malevolent spirit that's on YOU, not Christians who KNOW Christ NEVER fails.

I think this is problematic.....

"Without human refinement and education he was able to tap into the infinite resources of God to bring divine grace to multitudes."

Sounds pretty close to Catholicism?

I know it looks crazy but, I've experienced it before. It's amazing! Such an incredible inner clean feeling afterwards and so light, any emotional stress is gone.:D

Now, you know another reason why I call myself "Lafftur!"(y)
Experience never trumps scripture, and the bible nowhere commands us to be drunk in anything-but I won't worry about it. If some folks need that, and God gave it them, then awesome!

Well. Searched long and hard, but couldn't find the Name of Jesus Christ ANYWHERE on his home page. But I DID find links to buy stuff.

I don't really need to read the testimony or sermons from a guy that punches people in the stomach, who have stomach cancer, because he thinks he can knock satan out of them, and thus heal them.

How come there are NO verifiable healings or raising people from the dead from this guy or Hinn or any of the "pastors" that have gotten fabulously wealthy off selling this stuff to the poor?

Suit Blames Evangelist In Death

An evangelist was accused in a $5 million lawsuit Thursday of allowing an elderly Oklahoma City woman to languish at the front of a church for more than an hour after she fell and broke her hip.
The woman, Ella Peppard, 85, was later taken to a hospital and underwent surgery, but died 15 days later from blocked arteries brought on by the hip fracture.
The suit, filed in Oklahoma City federal court by Peppard's family, states that she suffered the broken hip Sept. 18 while attending a revival at the Faith Tabernacle near Interstate 40 and Portland. The revival featured evangelist Benny Hinn of Orlando, Fla., who took over the ministry once headed by the late Katherine Kuhlman.
The Peppard family's attorney, Carl Hughes, said the woman was convinced by ushers to go to the front of church, where Hinn was striking people on the forehead and pronouncing them "slain in the spirit."
The suit charged that Hinn, "in a deliberate and deceitful attempt to give the impression that one had been "slain in the spirit' ... pushed the gentleman standing in front of Mrs. Peppard backwards, knocking him into Mrs. Peppard and causing her to fall to the ground and break her hip."
Hughes said Hinn then declared that Peppard, who was in obvious pain, was hindering the service and ordered her removed from the stage and placed in a seat near the front of the church.
The attorney said Peppard's family was told by witnesses "that when one usher offered to seek medical aid, Hinn stopped him, saying, "Leave her alone. God will heal her.' " Peppard, according to the petition, eventually was taken to Deaconess Hospital, where surgeons implanted a prosthesis of her left hip. She was then transferred to Baptist Medical Center, where she died Oct. 3. The state medical examiner determined that she died of multiple pulmonary emboli (blocked arteries), caused by the broken hip.
The suit seeks $2.5 million in actual damages and another $2.5 million in punitive damages from Hinn, his company Benny Hinn Ministries Inc. and the Faith Tabernacle Association Inc.

Acts is a descriptive narrative, not to be used to teach the experience of the apostles, but rather to know the experience of the apostles.
You are just wrong. Apparently your book of Acts is different than all others.

The Spirit of Christ comes with conversion. Did you ask Jesus into your heart? Most churches who go no further than new birth day this. But, no signs following.

Jesus said do His works. Obey His commands. We must hear His Voice, being led by Holy Spirit.

No baptism of Holy Spirit with tongues and prophecy resulting, no works. The book of Acts done. This should not be in a believers life.

If you say you live in Him, then walk as He walked.

The pattern Son received anointing too before beginning ministry.
