Talk about a statement of commitment, to be contradicted within only

Is this a lie or telling the truth? Is this a commitment and then going back on it straight away?

This reminds me of a temper tantrum of a young kid in a shop.

I am not going to move, I am just going to stay here and scream.

Everyone ignores them, they get up, and carry on as before lol

I realise one attitude we see demonstrated here, arrogance, and condescension.
A passage says what it says. It is always dependent on context and interpretation.
The question is always which context and interpretation are the speakers taking, and
upon what foundation is it being put forward.

Once commentators start into abuse, they know they neither have the argument or
ability to win, so must mock and attack the speaker. This is not Gods way and has never
been.

The point about obeying loving your enemy, is to understand who they are and why they
hold the arguments and positions they do. But to do this requires a vast amount of self
honesty and knowledge of truth. It makes ones enemy like oneself, and needs insight into
why and how the truth works through in God and Jesus.

The best test I know to show where one is is to complement those who oppose you and
see their strengths. Then find out why they are as they are, and address the real issues
we have when we stand before the King. People will always invent and distort their positions
to be able to hold contradictatory ideas, but we just need to proclaim the truth that shines
like a light through all of this, because that is the nature of truth and Jesus.

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.
John 3:19-21
The Bible does tell us why people have false beliefs. There seems to be a reason or a mixture of reasons. The Bible says they were taught wrong, or find teachers for their itchy ears; and there is scripture that says they are ignorant and unstable and misunderstand everything. Some scriptures say they can't be reasoned with and are foolish. There is a lot of scripture about how they refuse because they are prideful, stubborn, hard and rebellious; and how they don't want to give up sin. There are even rougher reasons than that.

We are told not to keep sinning.
That is what we are to strive for, yet the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak, as the disciples found out when Jesus was arrested and they all fell away and Peter even denied knowing Jesus three times! (Matthew 26:31-46) Of course, this was only a temporary weak moment for 11 of the disciples and not a permanent decision (except for Judas Iscariot). In Proverbs 24:16, we read - For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.

In Galatians 5:17, we read - For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The struggle is real! Do you claim to be sinless, without fault or defect, 100% of the time, exactly like Jesus?

1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

1 John 5:18 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him.
As Greek scholar AT Robertson points out in 1 John 3:9 (KJV) - Doeth no sin (amartian ou poiei). Linear present active indicative as in verse John 4 like amartanei in verse John 8. The child of God does not have the habit of sin. His seed (sperma autou). God's seed, "the divine principle of life" (Vincent). Cf. John 1. And he cannot sin (kai ou dunatai amartanein). This is a wrong translation, for this English naturally means "and he cannot commit sin" as if it were kai ou dunatai amartein or amarthsai (second aorist or first aorist active infinitive). The present active infinitive amartanein can only mean "and he cannot go on sinning," as is true of amartanei in verse John 8 and amartanwn in verse John 6. For the aorist subjunctive to commit a sin see amarthte and amarth in John 2:1. A great deal of false theology has grown out of a misunderstanding of the tense of amartanein here. Paul has precisely John's idea in Romans 6:1 epimenwmen th amartiai (shall we continue in sin, present active linear subjunctive) in contrast with amarthswmen in Romans 6:15 (shall we commit a sin, first aorist active subjunctive). -https://www.biblestudytools.com/commentaries/robertsons-word-pictures/1-john/1-john-3-9.html

1 John 3:9 in the NASB reads - No one who is born of God practices sin..

In 1 John 5:18 reiterates the principle which has been stated throughout the book of John, that if a person has been born of God (Greek gennao is used in the perfect tense), he will not practice or live in sin (Greek hamartano is used in the present tense to imply a life characterized by sin, rather than an isolated act of sin).

If 1 John 3:9 and 1 John 5:18 truly meant that anyone who is born of God NEVER sins at all, then we would have a contradiction. In 1 John 2:1, we read - My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. Wait a minute. "Never sins at all - if anyone sins." - CONTRADICTION.

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “the Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”
Departing from wickedness/iniquity characterizes those who are born of God/believers, in CONTRAST with those who are not born of God/unbelievers who work iniquity/practice lawlessness. (Matthew 7:23).

Acts 26:17, 18 …I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
Believers are sanctified by faith in Christ, have turned from darkness to light and have received forgiveness of sin. 2 Corinthians 6:14 - Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? Ephesians 5:8 - for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light.

I couldn't care any less what Mr. Strong says, unless he wants to debate here.
Of course you disagree with Strong's because it does not line up with your self righteous, heretical doctrine.

We have to change our mind about wanting to sin.
Believers do change their mind and no longer practice sin, but instead, practice righteousness. (1 John 3:9-10).

The Word of God says to CONFESS your sins with your mouth to God and to stop sinning.
Believers do confess, speak the same/acknowledge/agree with God's perspective about their sins.

John 5:14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”

1 Corinthians 15:34 Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.

2 Peter 2:14 With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed—an accursed brood!
Those who teach sinless have also used and abused the words of Jesus in John 8:11, in which He tells the woman caught in adultery, "go and sin no more." Jesus was telling her to go and leave her life of sin. She had been practicing adultery. Sinless perfection is not being taught here. Jesus cannot compromise his perfect holy standard, so of course He is not going to say, "go and just sin a little bit." It's time for you to come down off of your self righteous high horse and place your faith (belief, trust, reliance) in JESUS CHRIST ALONE FOR SALVATION. Self moral reformation is not a substitute for regeneration.

Notice how people selectively read what others post. Then make think they are funny by mocking them with a non truth. Thus in the end, making them look bad
I mean really!!!!! How often do they have to be exposed that they do this before they see it?
Lol - EG noticed I said "never" as a summary of "never read much" - the true legalist - and this
invalidates the point, :love::love::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

He is so sensitive, must have hit a nerve, oh my, oh my, oh my, the mocker cannot take a bit
of his own medicine, who would have guessed, lol.

And my friend I do admire your style, brutal and not polished, condescending and arrogant
while trying to maintain being reasonable. That takes a lot of practice in front of the mirror.
But as an evangelistic building up aid, zero points. It is the way the world fights.

But I am happy to shine a light and say, I do love you, and whatever chips on your shoulder
you carry, Jesus can heal them and make you whole, the burden you carry can be laid at
the foot of the cross and you can find true freedom, for the first time in your life.

God bless you, in Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Imagine if this is the level of commitment we showed to the Lord.
Yes I believe in you, opps that sin over there is so tempting, just take a bit of that,
and that and that, and God will respect us and give us eternal life.

Now that is a real joke, whose commitment to it is demonstrated by his words above.

So many words, they cannot seriously be trying to make some simple points.
I think most readers lose the will to live before they get to the end, lol

"your self righteous, heretical doctrine."

This is a big statement. It is also wrong.
Nazarene Church Statement of Faith clearly talks through such doctrinal issues.

If you want to slander people, accuse them of not knowing Jesus, you need to say more
than this. You support a group which is simply not biblical for the following reasons.

Everything is evil unless done in the Spirit, makes trusting in someones sincerity or honesty impossible.
Believing slough is Gods way, any effort or desire to be righteous or holy is evil.
Hating individuals who one has labelled as false teachers or wolves is acceptable behaviour.
Abuse and being disparaging of such evil people is what they deserve.
Privilege is our gift from God, and having any doubts is satanic.
Satan uses scripture to cause condemnation, so any conviction feelings are not God even when from His word.
You only need to love your fellow believers.
Fear is evil, so fearing God is of satan, because God forgives us while we sin.
There is only one view of a passage, and they possess it.
A good teacher is essential, the Holy Spirit cannot be relied upon
The church is brainwashed to believe the creeds and statements of faith

Now none of the above is a christian ethic or belief, yet these are spoken of as if they are reality.
If you want to hold to this that is your choice, but it is not christian and leads to so much rubbish and dispute
here where there should be none if this was a true believers discussion.

The scriptures I gave are clear.
That's not really an answer is it? You took it out of context.

Proverbs 8:
12 "I, wisdom, am related to prudence. I know how to be discreet.

13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil. Pride, arrogance, an evil lifestyle, and perverted speech I despise.

14 Counsel belongs to me, along with sound judgment. I am understanding. Power belongs to me.

15 Kings reign by me, and rulers dispense justice through me.

16 By me leaders rule, as do noble officials and all who govern justly.

17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me will find me.

Perverting the gospel by teaching salvation by works (particularly salvation through sinless perfection) is a self righteous, heretical doctrine that is wrong. Your repetitive posts full of psycho babble and rhetoric are not helping.

Stop telling untruths about me and making a fake drama.
I quoted your own words. So much for the untruth.

The irony is OVERFLOWING. You are the most proud person in the thread, no doubt. Too prideful to apologize or admit any wrong, and you just falsely accused me AGAIN. Big mistake.

Everyone else its easy to get along with, even when we disagree we keep it moving as brothers and sisters. Yet with you, its your heretical way or the highway to hell.

Unfortunately, you just lost your salvation. (again)

As someone here said: "to the iggy bin".

Im throwing @YourTruthGod To my ignore bin because of his refusal to apologize, continued false accusations and bearing false witness with no kind of repentance, WHILE hypocritically maintaining he is obedient and nobody else is, and is maintaining his salvation.

This is the worst delusion ive seen on this forum so far! He is a LOST CAUSE, only God can help him. I hope God does, before PRIDE goes into DESTRUCTION!

I guess i shouldnt be surprised of this level of delusion, we are in the last of the last days CLEARLY!

Wow. Saul having the anointing taken from him and to have a demon come and pester him is a big
problem for those who are chosen, eternally and can never lose the blessing.

I never knew this was a problem for the once made eternal, irrevocable, because clearly not.
It is clear Paul says we are sealed with a deposit of the Holy Spirit which is Gods guarantee.

We no longer use seals much, but seals are stamps of authority which can be broken and removed.
But it just says the authority upon which this message is sent can only be broken by the authority
itself. And that is the point. The authority can still do what they like and take back the blessing as
was the case with Saul.

Thank you Jesus for demonstrating both the folly of such a absolute guarantee and disrespecting
Gods hand which demonstrates we should not test His grace or take it for granted.

To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.
2 Cor 12:7

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
Rom 12:16

See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
Heb 3:12-13
If this post represents the Nazarene church, then it's one I would never set foot in.

The Old Testament anointing never took up residence in the spirit of men. Rested upon but not within.

The body of Christ is both within and upon. Never leaves within for it's the new man. It's where I am unified with Holy Spirit, not just united. There's a difference.

When Holy Spirit comes upon one in the giftings, it's both within, and upon. This is the baptism. Done once but many infillings.

I believe Jesus when he says I am blessed when people insult me and falsely say all kinds of evil against me because of him.
Awwwww. Back to playing the martyr again I see. How cute.

It's about OBEYING GOD. You didn't know that did you.
Says the guy who claims he doesn't sin, he only makes "little mistakes."

You are a hypocrite of the first order.

Wow you are wrong.
That rock in the desert was Christ.
What you are responding to doesn't even mention a rock. Which proves to me, you actually don't read.

You have got to be kidding. David praying for God not to take His Spirit from him and asking for forgiveness was an example of what we could all do when Jesus came and died for us.
Again, you actually didn't read the post. My guess is you skimmed it. David was never in danger of losing his salvation The very Psalm you are quoting does not speak of David losing his salvation, but the JOY of his salvation. When David was exposed by Nathan, all he said was, "I have sinned against the Lord." And Nathan stated that God had already taken the sin away from him.

You, just like PeterJens, are a deceiver. You have been deceived, and thus you deceive others.

The most telling is not only your ignorant claim that you no longer sin, but your idea that one must become a child of God before one can receive the gift of salvation.

That's like a parent saying after a kid is already born, that they'll now be conceived.

I'm sick of you calling Jesus a liar.

To the rest of the board: I believe EG is right. We all need to put YTG, Peter, and the rest of the salvation-earners on ignore. Let them spend all of their time talking only to each other; comparing notes every day on how many good works they did to stay saved. Until, eventually, they turn on each other, arguing about who is holier and more deserving of salvation.

He met my ignore/prayer bin last evening..

He was thoroughly exposed. He is no longer a danger
