Wow, here I am getting attacked for saying every good thing comes from God. You guys are REALLY sad.
No, what is sad is one who twists the word to say something it does not say...........

Paul said it was by GRACE not the GIFT of works.....get your facts straight.......and the reason the churches and people are so screwed up is because of the embellished and twisted crap that gets taught and proclaimed as truth from those twisting the word.....SHOW us all where the verse you cite even begins to indicate that works are a gift from GOD

English Standard Version
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.

Berean Study Bible
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not in vain. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

Berean Literal Bible
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me has not been void. Rather, I toiled more abundantly than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

New American Standard Bible
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

King James Bible
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

1 Corinthians 15:10 and Ephesians 3:7-8

Read them and repent of your false accusations.
I did read them and have studied through both half a dozen times...they do not say that works are a gift from God....get your facts straight.....

Now you are just lying because I nailed you in a fallacy.......
LOL, anyone can read them and see what they say and see that you are fooling yourself

Did I fail to mention that in our flesh there dwells no good thing. So no such thing as good works that are not given to us by God, at least not any that are acceptable to God. They that are in the flesh CANNOT PLEASE GOD.

We'll talk about your errors when I get home later.

In the meantime, think about this...what is the difference between work and labor, and what is the difference between serving and ministry?

The only one who has committed fallacies is you. I caught you in a category error days ago, talking about Prodigal Sons that don't come home. No such thing. Remember that?

Ecclesiastes 3:14 I know that, WHATSOEVER God doeth, it shall be for ever: NOTHING can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

Whatsoever means, anything that God would do and it clearly states that what ever it is that he does lasts for ever.

Jesus+anything= A gospel of a different kind with no power to save and cursed by God. See Galatians chapters 1 and 3
Jesus-anything= A gospel of a different kind with no power to save and cursed by God. See Galatians chapters 1 and 3
Jesus plus nothing or minus nothing equals biblical salvation that lasts for ever.

Some false teacher had taught the Galatian brothers and sisters that they had to have faith in Christ and then be circumcised for true salvation. Paul calls this heretical teaching a gospel "of a different kind which is not the same kind" that he had been preaching and then double curses anyone who teaches salvation by grace, but kept by works.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which WE HAVE DONE, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration (the blood of Christ applied through faith) and the renewing of the Holy Ghost (A born again spirit)

Ephesians 2:8-10 In the grace you are, having been saved out of faith, and that not of YOURSELVES: it is the GIFT of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.

1. We are immersed into a standing of grace (unmerited favor before God) out of the act of faith.
2. The element of faith is not of us (as we are saved by the perfect faith OF Christ Galatians 2:16, 20 and the life we live
is based upon the faith OF Christ
3. It is a free gift (John 3:16) and the last time I check nobody works for a free gift in real life

Having said these things I will also say the following.

True biblical faith will produce biblical works as which came first below
1. Noah building an ark or Noah having faith that it was going to rain and flood the whole earth which led to the
building of the ark.
2. Abraham going on the long trek to the promise land or God calling him out of Ur and giving the promises
unto Abraham.
3. Noah, Abraham, David as well as all believers through the ages had or will have biblical works which are produced by
biblical faith.

No contradiction found between the Roman letter from Paul and the letter from James as both speak of faith and works and the difference between the two is as follows.

Paul in Romans is teaching about being justified BEFORE GOD which is by faith which produces works.
James in his letter is talking about being justified BEFORE MEN and our true faith shall be SEEN by men based
upon our biblical works.

Salvation is by grace, through faith into the perfect faith of Christ, without additions or subtractions, is eternal and sustained by God and will always PRODUCE biblical works.

Below is the correct order and how it unfolds.....

1. The natural man cannot know, discern and or spiritually understand the word of God as it is foolishness unto him and he cannot KNOW IT.
2. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God
3. In the grace you are having been saved out of FAITH<--salvation is the result of faith (out of faith)
4. Being saved allows for being transformed by the renewing of the mind that you may put to the test what is that good and acceptable will of GOD
5. By having number 1, thru 4 a person is
a. Born from above and has the spirit so as to compare spiritual with spiritual and can now understand the word of God and how to apply it
b. Can now do number 4 on the list and begin to be transform outside because of the transformation on the inside (Trasformed <---comes from a Greek word that we get metamorphoses from) Change outside because of the change inward....a buttery fly is a caterpillar and is changed into a butterfly due to metamorphoses
C. A man that is saved by faith which is born from above who has begun to take the word of God and understand what it means and how to apply it can in turn begin to grow and produce fruit and do the works that have already been prepared before the casting down of the world........

A man that is already SAVED by FAITH, having had the righteousness of GOD imputed by faith as a gift (saved, born again), who is now sanctified in Christ (positionally) and sealed with the HOLY SPIRIT of God, can now and only now begin to understand the word which will shape, form and fashion him after the workings of CHRIST. Then and only then can they do the works that were prepared for the ALREADY CHILDREN OF GOD BY FAITH.

The just shall live by faith......
But with out faith (a clear spiritual gift 1st Corinthians 13) it is impossible to please God......

What is first on the list.......FAITH=HOPE--->RESULTS IN LOVE (this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments and his commandments are not heard to bear (love God and love your neighbor)

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that BELIEVE (first on the list is faith (believe=save)
If you believe in you heart that God has raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved (Faith first on the list (believe=saved)
With the heart man BELIEVETH unto righteousness (faith first on the list=unto righteousness)
Therefore being justified by FAITH (faith first on the list=justified-->rendered legally innocent before God)

Faith has always come before works.....and faith is a GIFT FROM GOD........WORKS do not add to, facilitate, or get the free gift of FAITH.......

Faith which saves and makes it all possible.....see the numbered list above again :)

Why did you ask me to provide scripture showing that Grace was a gift of God?

and works are a gift of grace...

Ephesians 3: 8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the
unsearchable riches of Christ;

Christians that attack another Christian for saying ALL GOOD THINGS COME FROM GOD are really a sad state of affairs

Nope. We come against you because of your blatant twisting of scripture to try and make it say what it doesn't say.

Sorry, I was wrong. I went back and you had asked me about works. See, I know how to admit I am wrong, unlike you.

Is preaching a good work? And did Paul receive the grace of it? (ephesians 2:8)

Did Paul LABOR or did the Grace of God labor through Him? 1 COR 15:10

And then accusing me of NOT KNOWING that faith is a gift from GOD........he obviously does not know I can go back almost 5 years and pull up POSTS of MINE.....he owes me an apology for falsely accusing me of something not true....I have always advocated that faith is a gift from GOD and given in measure to everyone except JESUS.....

I thought I heard it all until I heard WORKS are a gift from GOD..........especially when the whole bible points to works being the RESULT of faith and salvation......but hey........I guess there is always a new twist on the word........

In the real world here, does it matter at all if works are a gift from God or not?

My opinion: Paul was giving God credit for the good works he was doing.

Just like in Philippians 2:13 it is GOD who works in you to do and will of His good pleasure.

I would not go so far as to say God controls all your behavior after you're saved, BECAUSE we can see that obviously Philippians 2:13 isnt always occuring in the believer's life. Why? Because lets say you fall into some SIN, are you going to say God is working in you to do it? Of course not.
