Because you make works part of the salvation "process".......which is false..........and NO MATTER how many times you peddle that fallacy you cannot get around the truth of the following verse....
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
As usual, no scripture.
Works are part of the salvation economy God has put into practice for mankind:
Jeremiah 4:22
"For My people are foolish, They know Me not; They are stupid children And have no understanding They are shrewd to do evil,
But to do good they do not know."
Galatians 6:9-10
Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity,
let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
Psalm 37:3
Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
Matthew 5:38-48
"You have heard that it was said, 'AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.' "But I say to you, do not resist an evil person;
but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. "If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also.
Luke 6:27-36
"But I say to you who hear,
love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. "Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either.
1 Peter 3:8-13
To sum up, all of you
be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing. Who is there to harm you if you
prove zealous for what is good?
1 Peter 3:10-12
For, "THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE GOOD DAYS, MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT.
"HE MUST TURN AWAY FROM EVIL AND DO GOOD; HE MUST SEEK PEACE AND PURSUE IT. "FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE TOWARD THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ATTEND TO THEIR PRAYER,
BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL."
Does the above sound to you like works is not a part of salvation?
Show me as many verses that state the saved are going to heaven....
Jesus said we must be saved, and be born from above.
But in all His teachings and preachings, He spoke of good works, as did all the N.T. writers.
