Does entering into Jesus' rest mean we're to give up the Sabbath day? Is the 4th commandment part of the moral law of God?

Never said anything different. The Ministry; the way we share GOD and HIS love went From Tables of Stone and ink on parchment to the fleshly tables of the heart.

It is no longer a question of obeying because we are told to. We do those things that are pleasing in in HIS sight because HE has changed or is changing us.

Paul Paraphrasing Deut.30:11-14 in Romans 10:6-8 says different from what you are saying. The Law which is of the Spirit of GOD is where true Faith comes from. A heart that has Christ in it has the word in it. Paul Paraphrasing Deuteronomy thirty defines what is meant by his use of the word word in Romans 10:8. The word is the statutes and commandments contained in the book of the Law. If Christ is in the heart, the word; the statutes and commandments contained in the Book of the Law are.

., Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word (is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; For Christ (Faith; the Word in the Heart and mouth) is the end of the law (written tables of stone and parchment) for righteousness to every one that believeth
(Rom 10:4-8)

A new ministration, for we have been made the ministers of the New Covenant. Not through Tables of Stone but through us due to the change on our the fleshly tables of our hearts through Christ's indwelling.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
(Heb 8:10 KJV)
Righteousness is not the letter of the law.

The Spirit is not the letter of the law.

Christ is not the letter of the law.

The Law was given so you would know you are guilty before God. It is condemnation and death.

Romans 3:19-20
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Keep that in mind when you think of the 10 commandments, the law.

2 Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

Here is direct written scripture for what is written on the Christians heart. It is directly contradicting your philosophy of the 10 commandments being written on our hearts.

2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

The letter of the law kills but the Spirit of God gives Life. They are two different things that produce two different results.

2 Corinthians 3:7-9
7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

This is some more contrast of what is written on our hearts and why it is different than what is written on stone.

What is written on stone cannot make us righteous.
What is written on stone shows us our sin.
What is written on stone kills, condemns and makes the whole world guilty before God.

What is written in our hearts frees us from this death and condemnation and guilt before God.
What is written on our hearts is Righteousness before God.
What is written on our hearts is Gods Spirit and NOT commandments commanding you to obey the law.

This all sounds like New Age religion. Just let your conscience guide you and you can't go wrong.

A lot of legalists and Judaizers don't like what Paul has to say.

Its much easier to just continue your work at the law and pretend that you are righteous and wise than it is to come to Christ and be given these things as gifts.

Let your conscience guide you and you can't go wrong sounds like New Age religion to me.

Not of man, but of God.

1 John 5:11-12 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.

Great way to explain. I would suggest also, what the eyes see, they cannot see the hidden glorious things of God the workings of the Spirit of Christ that works in the hard hearts of men, doing its work of making it more pliable. I would suggest also its the perfect law spoken of in Psalm 19. Combining the "law of faith" the unseen spiritual understanding , exercising its faithful work to fulfill the law etched in stone. or written scripture, as the literal letter of the law.

Together the written law that kills an the unseen hidden spiritual law of faith that heals.... bringing new life as one new "perfect law" doing its work it promised , converting the soul, giving the wisdom of God to the simply so that we might hear and seek after Him not seen, rejoicing out new hearts etc

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. New age is If a man lead by the devil. If a man lead by Holy Spirit, not like new age.

God write a law in a man heart, this is a promise. And God give bible as well as a refrebce.

Hebrews 10:16 King James Version (KJV)

Sabbath keeping was a sign of the old covenant:

Exo 31:16 'Six days is work done, and in the seventh day is a sabbath of holy rest to Jehovah; any who doeth work in the sabbath-day is certainly put to death

Exo 31:16 and the sons of Israel have observed the sabbath; to keep the sabbath to their generations is a covenant age-during,

Exo 31:17 between Me and the sons of Israel it is a sign -- to the age; for six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, and in the seventh day He hath ceased, and is refreshed.'
Just want to add in a few things you missed:

Also in Gen 2:3 we find that God 1.) Blessed, 2.) pronounced Holy, 3.) rested (שׁבת) on the seventh day. The seventh day has been a Holy Day from creation.

Then in Exo 16:23 we see it is called "the rest(שׁבתון) of the Holy Sabbath(שׁבת) unto the LORD"
Notice that the words "rest" in Gen 2:3 and "Sabbath" in Exo 16:23 are translated from the exact same Hebrew word.

Then in Exo 20:11 we are told it is because God created all things and that He rested on the seventh day, and God had blessed the seventh day and pronounced it holy:

Exo_20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

In Deu 5:15 it was to remember that they were slaves in Egypt

When the seventh day was made holy, it was not for Israel, it was not for a covenant for Israel one day.

There is a blessing for keeping the Sabbath.
Isa 58:13-14
“If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot
from doing your own pleasure on My holy day,
and call the sabbath a delight, the holy day of the Lord honorable,
and honor it, desisting from your own ways,
from seeking your own pleasure
and speaking your own word,
then you will take delight in the Lord,
and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;
and I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

Also, Jesus said that the Sabbath was made for human beings. Mark 2:27 He didn't say it was made for Jews or Israelites.

(that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) the next time you tell me I am bearing false witness against you when I say that you think you have to keep the Sabbath to be saved, I will point you back here.

and Christ's way? He said " come to Me, all you who are weary, and I will give you rest ".

he did NOT say " rest on the Sabbath ".

I just showed you why your philosophy of the 10 commandments being written on the heart is wrong.

Re-stating your wrong philosophy doesn't make it right.

Paul or the Lord Jesus Christ could have told us that the 10 commandments would be written on our hearts. But they NEVER did.

They alluded to Gods Law being written on the believers heart. Then Paul spells out that it ISN'T the 10 commandments that are written on our hearts. Its the Spirit of God that is written on our hearts. So Gods Law isn't the same as the 10 Commandments.

2 Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

The 10 commandments COULDN'T be what is written on our hearts because the 10 Commandments Kill.

It must be the Spirit that is written on our hearts because the Spirit gives Life.

Don't say this isn't what Paul says because it absolutely is.

What this further explanation of what is placed on our hearts MEANS is that YOU have mistaken what was to be placed in peoples hearts in those other verses (Heb 8:10, Rom 10:4-8, etc). Gods Law must NOT be the Commandments commanding you to obey Him and what He does. Gods Law must be something that CAUSES your obedience.

Sounds more like the Holy Spirit doesn't it? Well it IS the Holy Spirit because we are told it is in 2 Corinthians 3.

There is NO POSSIBILITY of the Lord Jesus Christ offering Rest if it is the 10 commandments that are written on peoples hearts.

There is NO POSSIBILITY of Paul telling people they aren't under law if it is written on their hearts.

What their is is some strange wish of legalists and judaizers to make Christianity about the 10 commandments. Even though there is a much MUCH better Ministration in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I agree, If It is 10 commandmentaw that wrote in our heart why Paul say we are not under the law? Good argument.

I believe what written in our heart is Love.

The greatest law

[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

I was responding to Locutus who was using Old Testament scriptures and * just added some of the ones he/she missed. But NT scripture is great for this study as well. We must examine all scriptures regarding the subject.

There are many different scriptures to look at for the study of whether to keep or not to keep the Sabbath.

And when someone brings up a scripture to try to add to this all to see how it fits in, you jump on the accusing wagon.

I will be honest, I don't know. I don't know if you should keep the sabbath or not. I have only attend Sunday keep churches.

But with your misinterpretation of my injection of some scripture, you say "BANG GOES YOUR DAY OF REST", does not give me the warm, loving kindness feel that Christians should be projecting. But your attitude sure makes me not want to listen to anything you have to say.

Where's the kindness and love of Christ?

Jesus spoke of false prophets, he told the disciples to shake the dust from off their feet; he said to let the dead bury the dead. He had a ‘go’ at the priests and the Levities in the parable of the Good Samaritan, he told others they were the children of the devil: Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (Joh 8:44) Jesus told people they would go to hell for not giving someone a cup of water in his name. Sometime it has to be told like it is, otherwise the speaker could be accused of deception and because you don't tell it like it is, people will continue in their error.

A blacksmith who was a kind and loving father, saw his young son about to pick up a red-hot horseshoe, this is a true story by the way, before his son could take hold of it, the blacksmith threw his hammer at his son's hand to stop him, unfortunately it broke his arm, but it mended and that was better than having a shrivelled hand for the rest of his life.

Jesus spoke the truth out of love for others, I am sorry I upset you.

Nope..

Please read what i say and take from it my belief.. Don't get over excited and run to false conclusions making statements about my beliefs that i have never stated..

It is for me personally the most annoying thing to encounter in Christian forums.. People pronouncing what others believe without that person ever having made any such statements..

Engaging in lying character assassinations is not a Nobel activity to be engaged in..

Matthew 5 KJV
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
I asked if I recapped your believes, you only answered with personal accusations, nothing about your scripture interpretations.

Hi, I'm studying to shew myself approved unto God and I'm not certain as to whether the rest that still "remaineth therefore...to the people of God" (Heb. 4:9)--written to the Hebrews who were keeping the Sabbath day--was meant to say that they would have "another" rest as in "in addition" ("For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterwards have spoken of another day" - Heb. 4:8) or "another" as in "a different."

...Like if someone gave you one apple and then said, "I'm going to give you 'another' apple, and then they handed you a second apple ("another" apple), or if someone handed you one apple and then said, "I'm going to give you 'another' apple," and then took the original apple they gave you and then give you a different apple instead ("another apple"). Thanks:)
Can Jesus also be YHWY of the Old Testament? Or do you believe that YHWY is the Father and Jesus is the Son and together they are two separate and distinct persons with two distinct religions? Did Jesus really come to make a new religion?

Deu_6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

Mar_12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Heb_13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Joh_10:30 I and my Father are one.

Mat_7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Psa_119:115 Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.

What is the "will of Jesus' Father who is in heaven"?

Pro 4:1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
Pro 4:2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
Pro 4:3 For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
Pro 4:4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
Pro 4:5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

Mat_19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Rev_12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rev_14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Luk_24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
