Where your theory is errant is in lack of consideration of the level of cognizance of the parties themselves. Prior to the eating of fruit of the tree of knowledge, because the Bible does not say the fruit was that of an apple, Adam and Eve's minds were lacking conceptual development. They were a blank slate. This is why we know they did not comprehend obedience and disobedience. Because the groundwork for that differentiation requires a conceptual understanding of those properties that comprise, in this case, good or evil, so as to arrive at an informed choice. Adam and Eve were essentially possessed of the same intellects as newborns. Tabula rasa, a blank slate.
Adam had not yet eaten of the fruit when Eve presented it to him. He had no concept of death whatsoever. He could not then "decide" to commit "suicide" believing Eve had already died herself. Yours is extra-biblical . It has not one iota of relevance to the scriptures nor can it even be made substantial by inference.
Adam was still in the spirit and innocent when Eve offered him the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Having eaten of it then, both Adam and Eve became conscious of the worlds dual properties. Dark, light. Up, down. Good, evil. Obedience, disobedience. As the scripture warned them, should they eat of the fruit they would become like God in that Gnosis, knowledge.
The question then arises, what was so wrong with possessing the consciousness of the Father of their creation? When, as those who are later in Christ, we are to strive to be sanctified in Christ so that our consciousness is aligned to the knowledge and will of the Father.
