I read ALL of the suggestions, but as a busy Mom, don't always have time to answer every single post. I said thank you to everyone numerous times, as I appreciate all of the help. But why my post was then carried on to other topics, I haven't a clue. I didn't post this thread so it can become a place where people argue about what version of the Bible is better than the other. Thanks.
OK, now let's move forward...

Oh, you were offended alright, and still are.

Your name calling is quite unChristian, and frankly old. Two posts of yours now have accomplished this. I never saw any of the pejoratives in any of the discussions you were offended about. This all happened once you chimed in and it all stemmed from you. That's what is sad.

Can't handle theological debate, and have to refer to others as foolish with other pejoratives? Well you're too easily offended and should steer clear.
Merida, you’ve been here all of 3 days and you are telling everyone how to behave, and obey your rules?? Even the mods don’t get to do that!

My suggestion is to get to know people a bit before you become a fire breathing dragon. Sometimes it seems like someone is insulting someone else, when they are in fact friends, but disagree on one or two things. I tell people off, on occasion. You may have even seen it on this thread. But those people are my long time friends. We are just passionate about what we believe.

So, before you keep on calling everyone out, sit back, watch the dynamics, remember we are all adults, and have know some of the people here for years, even off the forum. And if something really bothers you, send a message to the person, privately. If that doesn’t work out talk to the mods.

Because the only person I have really seen putting another person down in this thread, is you, Merida.

Oh! Welcome to CC, and sorry for your loss!

In my opinion, I didn't put anyone down. I was simply saying that my intention for this thread was not to cause conflict or drama, as you can clearly read in my original post. I said "Please don't argue", trying to keep the peace. And now, somehow I'm the bad person here. I really don't get it. I apologize to anyone I offended - was not my intention! I lost a dear friend today. I'm in shock and disbelief. Please stop, I'm asking nicely. Just please let it go.

Wow guys, and gals, thanks for acting up and arguing, and fussing, and fighting, and making a general negative display of the faith in front of a new believer. I'm sure Jesus is quite proud of the display we have made of his great grace and mercy, and of his wonderous love. Now that we have demonstrated ourselves to be exactly as worldly as the world I wonder how much hope she has for being an over comer, and escaping futile squabling and unnecessary drama. And we wonder why the lost look at us as a bunch of loonies, not because our great faith in that which is unseen, but because we act like day time tv drama over seriously petty stuff.
My friend, when people say no one can be saved UNLESS they read the King James Bible, have a preacher preach the gospel from the King James Bible, and/or are witnessed to by having the King James Bible quoted to them, that all other versions(when the King James Bible is a VERSION of God’s word, too) are perversions, and those who read them can not be saved, that is not seriously petty stuff.

Telling people to not argue when the ones we are debating are King James Bible only is like throwing a steak to a pack of starving pit bulls and asking them to play nice and share.

Well, as someone who is "3 days new", I guess I didn't realize the question would trigger people. My bad.

You should judge every Bible version against the KJV - King James Version
and then get a copy of the New King James Version - NKJV - you will have to suffer the atrocious Americanised spelling,
but I believe one can buy a NKJV with British spelling.
These two Bibles ought to be sufficient for your reading. When you get stuck on passages in the KJV just use the NKJV to
get the gist of the scripture in more contemporary English.
Browse second-hand bookshops and welfare shops for a good dictionary printed before 1960 as these older dictionaries
have more substantial word definitions than modern contemporary dictionaries.
Also older dictionaries when listing words pertinent to Christian doctrine such as saviour, repentance, baptism, faith,
and such will give good theological meanings for these, even referring to Jesus as the Saviour for example.
One beautiful old 1930s "Home Dictionary" that I bought for $4 even has scripture references in the word meanings
when it comes to Biblical and Christian word entries.
Older dictionaries will have meanings for Thy and Thou and Ye and other KJV words (archaic).

Nick :)
Thank you for your help, Nick :)

Again, thanks to all who've helped me. I apologize if I came unhinged myself, I was just put off by what was seemingly arguing between others. I can't stop anyone from doing what they want here, nor was that what I was trying to portray. Do as you will amongst yourselves, but I choose not to argue with people. Have a great night.

I like that kind of talk, for a lot of people already say the Christians are hypocrites because of their wrongful behavior, and do we want people to be saved or not, for the world examines how we act, and they say, hold on Jesus is love, so why don't you Christians act the same.

We should respond the way God wants us to respond, and leave the flesh out of it.

If somebody was offended by my humour yesterday, I am sorry. I was before going to bed and therefore my mood was too sleepy to repeat over and over and over what an anthropomorphism is in a strictly serious tone, so I chose the way of humour, in which the absurdity of literal reading in some cases was suddenly clear, I hoped. If not and if somebody is offended with this style, my apologies.

Basically, I think that your question was answered in first posts. Now the thread will be used for mixed topics, I think. Its how internet goes.

You didn't trigger people, they need to learn how to act. Part of being Christian is learning how to treat other people.
