Wow guys, and gals, thanks for acting up and arguing, and fussing, and fighting, and making a general negative display of the faith in front of a new believer. I'm sure Jesus is quite proud of the display we have made of his great grace and mercy, and of his wonderous love. Now that we have demonstrated ourselves to be exactly as worldly as the world I wonder how much hope she has for being an over comer, and escaping futile squabling and unnecessary drama. And we wonder why the lost look at us as a bunch of loonies, not because our great faith in that which is unseen, but because we act like day time tv drama over seriously petty stuff.

Thank you for being the voice of reason.

If you're that soft and easily offended you may want to steer clear of the BDF. Since you think the important eternal matters here discussed are "seriously petty stuff" then theological matters within the BDF aren't your cup of tea most likely. I didn't see the OP as petty, nor the other issues that came up along the way.

Obviously you did.

Certainly there is lighter fare for the more timid spirited and easily offended in the several other forums on CC.

No, it's because some people aren't in the mood for shenanigans and immaturity. I lost a good friend in a car accident today, and I don't need to have drama on a Christian board. I'm already teetering on the edge of what I believe in, and now my friend died in a car accident at only 38 years old, leaving behind her three children. People have a lot going on in their lives offline, and they come here for some kind of comfort. No one needs your sarcasm and know-it-all attitude.

Although I'm sorry for your loss, your post, drama and name calling are uncalled for, untrue and frankly unnecessary.
I'm not the one who has caused drama in this thread. Quite the contrary. I'm sure most who are following this thread would agree.

I posted this because I wanted advice on the various Bible versions, and I thought that was pretty clear. Then the thread was taken completely off topic.

And that's my fault, because?...……….

Sorry for your loss, I hope that in time that the Lord will assuage your grief and leave you only fond memories. The good news is that we don't grieve as those with no hope.

I don't get offended. I did get second hand embarrassment because how childish you and some others acted. I wish I could say I have never seen such foolishness from seasoned Christians but saddly too many times the saying of Jesus that not many wise are called is proven accurate.

Oh, you were offended alright, and still are.

Your name calling is quite unChristian, and frankly old. Two posts of yours now have accomplished this. I never saw any of the pejoratives in any of the discussions you were offended about. This all happened once you chimed in and it all stemmed from you. That's what is sad.

Can't handle theological debate, and have to refer to others as foolish with other pejoratives? Well you're too easily offended and should steer clear.

It isn't your fault at all. Every time this topic comes up (which is about once every three to four months), the discussion gets heated.

The problem is that the views of some people are unacceptable to other people. I suspect most intend for you to receive good advice (well... I hope so!) but we differ deeply on what that good advice is. Whatever the advice is, just keep reading the Bible and asking Jesus to speak to you through it. :)

First, no one ever said anything was your fault.

Actually, your addressing me was uncalled for.

Have you seen anything positive here????

I gave you a post early in the thread (post #65) with lot's of info. Did you bother to comment on that? No, you didn't.

Did you bother to respond drama and go on the offensive toward me? Yes, you did.

I attempted to offer advice. I also lined out loco man as well who actually came in with more vitriol than what I witnessed in the thread.

Sorry if you're offended for my taking on loco with his grandstanding post.

I read ALL of the suggestions, but as a busy Mom, don't always have time to answer every single post. I said thank you to everyone numerous times, as I appreciate all of the help. But why my post was then carried on to other topics, I haven't a clue. I didn't post this thread so it can become a place where people argue about what version of the Bible is better than the other. Thanks.
