Should be interesting :cautious:
I guess we've already seen SDA's write 3 pages on why Rest isn't really rest. But rest is really working at the law.

Its not really that interesting.

What would be interesting is honesty and truth in the interpretation of scripture.

But then they wouldn't be SDA, Hebrew Roots or legalists anymore...lol or Roman Catholic. almost forgot about them...

They want to place usback under the burden, back under the spirit of fear, back under phariseeism, where we think weare more righteous than we are and walk around judging everyone while puffing ourselves up.

A hominem, is an argumentative strategy whereby genuine discussion of the topic at hand is avoided by instead attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument. I have provided multiple passages of Scripture to defend my arguments, along with this link "that you removed in my response" - http://www.nonsda.org/study8.shtml which thoroughly refutes the ludicrous teaching of SDA's that the near the end of time the "mark of the best" of Revelation 14 will be placed upon those who worship on Sunday instead of Saturday, so enough with the shady lawyer tactics and 50 pages of biased arguments, full of Scripture twisting, psycho babble, rhetoric and SDA propaganda. You are not fooling me or any of my brothers and sister in Christ on Christian Chat. :cautious:

I'll swap ya, links, as this one has real Truth - http://www.pearltrees.com/awhn

"He who is trying to reach heaven by his own works in keeping the law, is attempting an impossibility."
Sugar coated double talk from someone who teaches salvation by “grace plus law, faith plus works.” :cautious:

Every part of the OT law has been fulfilled: not obliterated, destroyed, or negated.

Do the ten commandments have application and use for us today? Absolutely, but not as a means to attain holiness and salvation. The law was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.
C...,
They were established to measure righteousness.
Fully directed at salvation...of course.

Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

I wonder how you can step away from your own righteousness and study Christianity instead?

Ok,from the op viewpoint, there is a missing ingredient.
Most responders if not all, have left it out as well.
The heathen and covenant Jews are indeed under the 10 comandments.
So are we INDIRECTLY.
Indirectly because the LAWGIVER reside in us. We need not a tablet of stone in our hearts. We need HIS HEART.
That is supposed to happen at conversion.
We have a new heart. That is why, when we sin , it breaks our heart. We feel destroyed. We immediately seek relief.
We repent, and oh the joy of his favor and smile, and warmth of his approval.
And yet the law is profitable in another way ...believer to believer.
Should you encounter a brother in a sin, and he can not be reached spiritually ,we invoke the written law.
The law REVEALS SIN.
The bible says that is law's purpose. To reveal sin.
You see now WHY we do not " need" the law?
If we are guided by the law other than the law giver we are like a fish with a scuba tank.
Walking weirdly with Jesus.
As if his heart is needing stone tablets

I see a lot of the charachter attacks here.
I know i am kinda hard on people which isn't right either.
I really have to watch that.
It seems to boil down to love thy neighbor.

Oooops, I think I just invoked the law lol

G...,
No one can frustrate (?) the grace of G-d.
You are mixing righteousness with forgiveness. Christ gave us forgiveness. You and I are to be righteous.

If you wish a comment from me then explain what your thought is....because it is not discernible?...there is no Christianity without righteousness.

There is no law against love. You have it backwards.:)

I agree.
Sorta.
Both grace and the law incorporate love.
I never said there is a law against love
Agree, you did not say it directly, my point is we forget that love comes from freedom not law.

The law compels a natural love, in Christ we have access to His love which gives us the freedom to truly love others.

We love because He first loved us.:)

Agreed not interesting, I was being facetious.

What I do find interesting though, is why it takes so much verbiage to prove their point, and all that connecting the dots across scriptures makes my head hurt LOL o_O

I am thankful for the new age religion crap presented on this and other forums. Yes...it is new age...because I can find no listing, publications, preachings, or other references prior to the 1960's.
Did we just become smarter in that era?........no....new interpretations in that era is a result of decaying moral and civil fibers desiring association with the Bible but release from the controlling elements by scriptures.
Attempts at degrading G-d's word continue today and will not stop until .......the end of this...man's day, The Bible Age, Day of Grace.

Where is this reiterated to the church?
Paul made a note to his followers that it would additional guilt added to their conscience if they were to knowingly consume meats offered to idols. It would be like saying it was OK to accept sacrificial meat and that the sacrifice meant nothing. This would be a bad example to a follower of the sacrifice since we don't live under these restrictions.

. . for us there is but one God, the Father, from Whom all things came and for Whom we exist. And there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through Whom all things came and through Whom we exist.
But not everyone has this knowledge. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that they eat such food as if it were sacrificed to an idol. And since their conscience is weak, it is defiled. But food does not bring us closer to God: We are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.
(1 Corinthians 8:6-8)
we should try not to offend them or their conscience, but what sort of example is it if we let them go on thinking that an idol is something? that food is able to commend or condemn them?

how to impart such knowledge gently, with kindness?

Romans 8:1-4
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

I don't really know how to do it gently. But the Truth is kindness, even when it is harsh, imo

Everyone is trapped in a cult if you consider 2Thessalonians 2:2 in that although some might not fully be aware of the certain times of eschatology they also might not be of full understanding of what it might pertain to of the commands we give to our hands in the faith of our loving Lord Jesus the Christ, the acts of our hands, the mind of our spirit when it flicks our arms and legs and they obey what we said go do.

But look at 2Tessalonians 2:2 and notice that it made no difference to Paul in that they did not understand what all of the Matthew 24,mark 13,,,Luke 21 stuff all meant other than that he knew that it made them afraid and he saw to give them comfort. The Apostle Paul did not cast them away in his letter as dead things because they thought they had missed the coming of the Lord but instead as brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ. There is no stipulation my love in that you are required to know everything at once....

I agree. We are to embrace the fullness of the power of God through Jesus equipping his church with power by the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

It is not saying they are operating in it that I see as a problem, but rather not really possing it in fullness.

Power is responsibilitiy. He must be able to trust us with the power.

The walk with Jesus is a walk of faith. Faith means letting go and trusting, but it also REQUIRES not looking through natural eyesight.

You are right. The modern churces embracing the rejection of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is so new agey and false.
