I just got through looking and you were right David did marry Michal. She was childless so Saul gave her to another prince while David was in exile. With her already being married shows us just how much Saul went against God.
Initially I thought it was also to Love thy neighbor, but if we look at it in the context of loving God, we are loving people (neighbor) and vice verca.
When I said David didn't marry Saul's daughter, I got Michal mixed up with Merab the eldest daughter. Saul promised her then gave her away before they could marry.
